Cosmic Updates

FullMoonChart12-1-09Full Moon in Gemini
Wednesday, December 2, 2:31 am EST

The Full Moon in Gemini is often a jittery time as nervous systems are stretched with an overdose of input. It’s common to become scattered and unfocused amid the myriad of activities that fill life to the brim. The Gemini Moon’s opposition to the Sagittarius Sun puts everything on the table for discussion. Yet we may discover that endless debate and dialogue can be exhausting. Fortunately, pragmatic Saturn’s trine to the Full Moon keeps the clock of responsibility ticking, which should help the gabbiest among us from talking and talking and never turning words into action.

Meanwhile mercury is conjunct Pluto having just moved into zero Capricorn, also near the sun, and the FULL MOON alignment. With mercury near Pluto, we will find an intensity to the realm of our mind. Pluto’s power is pure, its up to us how we manifest it through our speech this week as mercury and pluto come together, with the light and expansion of the Full Moon. Our words will be supercharged–so let’s use that power with skill for joy and upliftment of our souls, rather than digging up old shadows, conflicts, or wounds. The Full moon creates a T-Square with Saturn opposing Uranus. We are experiencing the breaking down of convention in any area where it is holding us back from solutions, truth, or creativity. This full moon is a bit of a crisis of organization with Saturn in the T-Square. Its time to Re-organize so that things function more smoothly for this upcoming age of Aquarius and what it means to new business.

When the full moon in Gemini highlights our self looking at our “other self”, we have moments of confrontation, and moments where we seem to stand on opposite sides of an issue. Sometimes, all we can do is laugh at how seriously we take ourselves. Ideas can change, polarized thought is two sides of a wheel. The whole wheel is kept moving by some mysterious force of creation and its important to honor the way each force, each place on the wheel, even when they are opposite positions on the wheel–is important for the health of the whole. Our uniqueness and diversity is the secret to our success and healing in the new time. As we have compassion for each other’s differences, we can celebrate the power in diversity!!!!!!

December will be an inspiring call to action. Where November helped us question our values and begin the emotional work to begin shifting our values, expect the focus in December to return to societal and personal relationships. If you have done the work of understanding where you have sold out and accepted dreams, ideals, and inspiration that were not yours, the Gemini New Moon on December 2nd will lubricate your mind with all sorts of goodness.

Prepare to witness and receive all sorts of ideas. Your challenge is to stay focused and apply these ideas to how you can better connect to others. Expand what you think is possible in your relationships.

This Full Moon is the peak of the lunation that began in the cavernous soul depths of Scorpio. From that powerful New Moon in the sign of death and rebirth, now comes the shattering climax in Gemini. It’s a light shining on what’s been pulled from the psychic roots, and then a scattering to the four winds. After the plunge, it’s time to mix it up with others. It’s a nervous, jittery, very socially active Full Moon.

What’s illuminated at this Full Moon in Gemini are the many sides of the self, we discover how changeable we are, and can enjoy the freedom of that. We see into the dark, and have heavy moments, but now it’s time for lightness. Mutable Gemini reminds us not to grasp too tightly to one view of ourselves or a situation. That the mind plays tricks on us, and there’s always another angle to see from. Or something clicks into place and everything changes.

The Sun and Venus are in Sagittarius, opposite to the Moon. What’s picked up instinctively by the Gemini Full Moon’s receptive antennae can be little triggers for growth. One theme is learning both by what we hear or read (Gemini) and what we experience (Sagittarius). With Venus close by, we’re inspired to share the learning journey with others.

Grace Under Pressure

This Full Moon is a celebration of our ability to adapt to a world in the midst of a chaotic change. Take note of what you’re fascinated by, the serendipities, and the people passing through your life….there may be a thread of inspiration to follow that gives you some sense of continuity.

The Sabian Symbol for 10 degrees Gemini is Aeroplane, after a nose-dive, rights itself gracefully. Capacity to plunge into experience without surendering one’s principles or self-control.

The meaning for this Full Moon is that even in the midst of dizzying change, we can keep our integrity in tact. We don’t have to compromise our values, or give up in the face of chaotic events.

To stabilize our racing thoughts, the Moon in air sign Gemini is trine to Saturn in Libra. This keeps us from spinning out of control. Saturn’s influence steers us toward discovering a purpose for all the little flashes of insight we’re having. Use what you gather to initiate something. It might lead to initiating a conversation, a business idea or speaking up for a cause.

Adapting to Major Change

Use this Full Moon to tap into your natural flexibility to adapt to change. The Saturn-Pluto square is in effect, and may alter your foundation without notice. The loose hold on fixed reality, of these two signs — Gemini and Sagittarius — are teachers now. They show us how to be light on our feet, and keep our humor. They show us how to bend, not break, when faced with shocking change.

Outbursts

Some crazy things could spill forth on the Full Moon. Mercury is in honest Sagittarius and in a square to bustin’ out Uranus. Sagittarius brings us opportunities of inspired truth. It may be intense or shocking. But it goes straight to the heart of how you really feel.

These kinds of outbursts can be liberating, suddenly freeing you to live with more emotional integrity. If they come fast and furious, keep a journal close by to record your thoughts. Also, watch for dreams for imagery that offers guidance on how to move forward or free yourself in some way.

Sharing Your Uniqueness with Others

A key theme of our time is to heal from emotional-spiritual isolation, and quickly come together to share our gifts. The essence is unearthed now, and we move toward more authenticity. It’s time to get real. Mars in Leo is a firestarter to rediscover your one true thing. It’s the motivation to go toward making your mark. A clue to finding that one true thing is asking yourself what you’d like to be famous for.

The pull of Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius, in opposition to Mars (Leo), is to living your passion as a gift to humanity. That makes this a special time to re-align with your true purpose. Follow the natural curiosity that’s aroused by the lit up Gemini-Sagittarius axis to find your way on the path.

dreamstime_1999700New Moon in 24* 34 Scorpio, November 16 at 8:15 a.m EDT

If there was ever a time for figuring out the source of difficulties in our lives, the New Moon at 24° 34′ Scorpio on November 16 is it.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is 25 Scorpio:

“An X-ray photograph helps with the diagnosis.” How appropriate is that for a New Moon in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius and trine Uranus in Pisces? There is little doubt that if we can identify a problem, we are well on the way to resolving it, providing we apply a generous dose of compassion and diligence.

Scorpio’s penetrating vision and willingness to use a scalpel to lance the wounds it finds may not be easy or comfortable, but if we can accept the necessity of doing so, we have an opportunity to really start healing wounds long ignored. There is also little hope of being able to continue to bury our heads in the sand, because our vulnerable backsides are sticking up, just waiting to get kicked. Fortunately, Uranus in Pisces trine the New Moon offers new possibilities and solutions to old dilemmas, with a nice measure of empathy thrown in.

Mars, Scorpio’s ruler, forms a square from dramatic Leo to Venus in very private Scorpio. This sets the stage for potential disagreements with friends and lovers, because both of these fixed signs tend to be somewhat possessive with jealousy consequently. Scorpio likes to hold their feelings close to the chest, and Leo prefers to make a public display of theirs – not a happy combination. Honesty is by far the best option, because if Scorpio finds out they have been lied to, there will be all hell to pay.

On the subject of honesty in relationships, the Saturn-Pluto square is just one day past making the first of three exact squares (the second one is January 31, 2010 and the third, August 21, 2010). At this time, we have help in the form of Mercury in forthright Sagittarius forming a sextile to Saturn in Libra and a semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. Yes, the words may be blunt and to the point, but if they reflect the truth as each person understands it, progress in resolving our differences can be made. The rewards will be well worth the pain.

All New Moons take us into the dark, so we can mix with the Void, and emerge anew. This one is the Mother of all Dark Moons, in Scorpio, the sign of death that births the new. If we choose to, we can seek deep soul healing now. Or we might find sexual healing. You might just ask spirit to heal what’s hurting. What’s needed now is a heart open to change, and the willingness to do whatever that takes.

We enter a darkness that’s the cauldron of primal energies. It’s a time of coming back to the base of soul power. Everything from giving away our power, to the simple stress of living can cause parts of us to “check out,” leading to the sense of being shutdown.

NewMoonChart11-16-09The New Moon chart shows the Sun-Moon in Scorpio, along with Venus. A main theme here is surrendering to a deep healing, release, purge of what’s become toxic in your life. It’s having the courage to look at what needs to go, in order for you to grow. It’s facing fears of being enveloped by the ‘crazy’ as it’s being released and integrated,  not trying to tame that primal energy, but honor it by finding a way to express it. That might be through some catharsis, sex, sustained creative projects or ritual:

In the Crucible

Just like the last Full Moon, there’s a lot of tension (squares) that creates internal pressure in all of us. The biggie now is the square between Saturn and Pluto, which is exact right before the New Moon. This one is going to be long term, with no easy outs. It involves the ground beneath us and the diseased state of our institutions (Pluto in Capricorn).

Since Pluto rules Scorpio, it’s significant that it’s so close to this potent New Moon. The cure may be extreme, since the dis-ease is so embedded in our culture and in the process; those that fear losing power are likely to lash out. However, take heart that Saturn is now in Libra, the sign of moral conscience, justice and diplomacy. The friction of this square will be in play, as a cosmic re-balancer of a world out of whack.

Quantum Leaps

The Sun-Moon in Scorpio are in a tense square to planets in Aquarius (Neptune, Jupiter). This adds urgency to the need to release what’s in the personal shadows, so you can keep up with the quickening process of the collective. It also makes it feel like a collective deep healing process that is personal, but part of the bigger story of humanity. As you heal, you contribute to the healing of everyone, since we are all linked.

Venus square Mars

This is yet another provocative aspect at the New Moon. Venus drives us to be authentic with our feelings, and inspires us to lose the fake smile. This can be a highly creative aspect, if we express the uniqueness of our genuine story. We honor what we’ve been through, by leaving denial behind, and by claiming it as part of who we are. Our own darkness and story of healing can be inspiring to others, as part of song, art, and sharing.

Shocks to the Heart

The Sun-Moon in Scorpio are in a harmonious trine to Uranus (the awakener) in Pisces. As you go into the shadow, this speeds the healing process, and opens you to forgiveness of yourself and others.

You may have startling dreams that crack things open, and unravel a psychic mystery that has had you bound. It’s a time of dark imagination, where mystery lurks in the shadows, and can be the stuff of great art.

New Moon Rituals

The days leading to total lunar darkness pull us inward. There is no need to figure anything out. You can go far with this plunge into healing, by looking at your own resistance to let go. What we clutch tightly, as if our lives depended on it, is often the very thing we have to let go of, and in the release, great stores of energy are restored, and available for your use. It feels risky, but the rewards are great. A New Moon Ritual might involve a commitment to let go. Only you know what is tying up your vital energies, or where you are losing power.

Ritual Ideas:

  • Draw a healing bath with lavender, and envision yourself being cleansed of what you’re carrying.
  • Make a collage that has images of what you are like to seed for Spring, or visions of personal power.

FullMoonTaurusFull Moon in Taurus

On November 2nd 2009, a full moon at 11 degrees of Taurus beams its moonlight on the earth to brighten our path in the darkness of night.  The brightness of the full moon is a metaphor to our wishes and desires we planted in the New Moon period, and is growing clearer and brighter each day without any hidden agendas until it becomes full.  The materialization of our wishes and hopes which reflects us and our needs is similar to the full moon which reflects the energy and thoughts of the Sun.  With the full moon in Taurus the need to have or possess, to receive, to preserve, and to enjoy is essential in our daily lives.

With Jupiter and Mars squaring the Full Moon, the need to share, to expand, to care and to work towards a certain end which is familiar and lasting without becoming a dull and routine habit is a necessity.  Jupiter teaches us that we need to share our good fortune and Mars pushes our thoughts of giving and service into action, rather than empty words that do nothing.  Saturn still in opposition to Uranus and squaring Pluto is continuing to push for change, rebirth, regeneration, and the need to see things, both new and old, in a new light.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 11 degrees of Taurus:

A woman sprinkling flowers . This is a symbol of the soul’s determination to give constant and tangible manifestation of its creative powers, and of its eagerness to pour itself into every potentiality of living.  There is here an easy and rewarding partnership between man and nature, so that a natural profusion tends to match his inner generosity of spirit.  He feels responsible for the welfare of his world, and its rewards for his interest are very great.  The keyword is care.  When positive, the degree is the high stewardship by which man builds everything around him into an enduring organism for his own fulfillment, and when negative, superficial satisfactions and a wasteful truckling to petty concerns.

Sabian Symbol for 11 degrees Scorpio:

A drowning man rescued.  This is a symbol of the soul’s personal immortality, and of its unabated eagerness in returning to the various phases of its experience again and again.  There is here a consistent partnership between man and nature, so that the very accidents of circumstance can be counted on to serve him as long as he maintains his underlying enthusiasm of being.  His consciousness has continuity through his sense of responsibility for his own creative powers.  The keyword is safety.  When positive, the degree is the inherent courage which constitutes a protection from the vicissitudes of life, and when negative, a tendency to hysteria on the least occasion and a lean on transient excitement for all self-realization.

What this teaches us, is that no one person is an island unto himself without the help of others, and that the keyword for Taurus in the second house in the twenty first century is no longer I Have, but We Have and Share.  The urgency for humanity is to realize that we are now a global community and the need to watch out and to care for one another, is one of the many important lessons we need to practice if we are to survive the coming ages.  With Venus ruler of Taurus, we have not only the ability to appreciate and possess beautiful things and ideas, but we have the ability to have compassion for everyone and everything and every thought.  With the Full Moon in Taurus we are taking another step forward in learning to care.

How will this full moon influence your birth chart? Match the sign and degree to determine what house this full moon will illuminate.

Full Moon in the First House focuses on the balance between the individual self (where the Full Moon is), and the shared self, (where the Sun is). The past two weeks may have given a focus on “others” or “another”. It’s important not to lose one’s individuality, basic needs, personal goals, and growth within relationships. There is room for the self within any partnership. Assert the self’s need to “be” during this full moon cycle.

Full Moon in the Second House represents the balance between the financial houses (2nd and 8th houses), what I own and what we share, a look at what we value in life as well as how we value the self. Issues regarding one’s income or major purchases that increases the value of the home, i.e. appliances, cosmetic repairs, etc. may be at hand. As full moons bring endings/closures, there may be a change in one’s income or financial status during this full moon cycle.

Full Moon in the Third House encourages the rationalization of our emotions, attaching logic and reason to our feelings, and communicating them — say it, write it, blog it, email it, tweet it. The third house also represents siblings and neighbors. So, find your voice and express yourself!

Full Moon in the Fourth House represents home, family, our roots, inner drives, and connection to our past. A look at our relationships with family (biological or otherwise) is encouraged now. The past two weeks may have been focused on career, professional life, and achieving our goals. Satisfying the basic needs of our private life is the more important thing during this full moon cycle.

Full Moon in the Fifth House is all about fun, love, and children. Seek pleasures. Bring out the fun and forgotten child-like qualities in you. Be around children as a reminder of what it is to have simple fun, simple pleasures. Foster romantic dalliances. Express devotion to your true love. As full moons bring endings/closures, a love affair may end or you may finally let go of that torch you’ve carried for a lost love or an inevitable breakup happens.

Full Moon in the Sixth House encourages a look at our health/habits and seeks to have order and comfort in routines, busy work, servicing those in need. It might be necessary to finish up some open to-do items or resolve long-standing issues. Have you been putting off that visit to the doctor or annual dental check-up? Get it done already!

Full Moon in the Seventh House centers on our partnerships (intimate and/or business). Accommodating/meeting the needs of our significant other or business partner, perhaps even sacrificing the self’s desires, is what’s at the forefront now. It’s time to shift the central focus off the self and onto “others” or “another.” As full moons bring endings/closures, some relationships may end completely, while others may find that ending one/some things brings a renewal to the relationship.

Full Moon in the Eighth House highlights our shared resources and may require letting go of something/someone in order to move on. The past two weeks may have been focused on what I own, my income, my self-worth; this full moon cycle may be about what we share, our joint financial resources, our material worth together. The eighth house also represents sex, death (not necessarily physical but more like endings), and regeneration. Is there something (habits, associations, thoughts/ideas) you need to give up that is holding you back? This full moon cycle is a good time to address that.

Full Moon in the Ninth House stresses our personal growth, philosophy, religion, higher education, publishing, and travel. How does our belief system/religion/philosophy affect our personal and spiritual growth? Do they help expand our horizons or do they narrow our vision and keep us from living inspired lives? As full moons bring endings/closures, maybe it’s time to open up the mind to new experiences that foster growth. Expand mentally to grow exponentially.

Full Moon in the Tenth House focuses on career/professional pursuits and long term goals. How committed our we to achieving our goals or gaining the professional respect/reputation necessary to be a success in our profession and with our colleagues? As full moons bring endings/closures, there may be issues/events that have lingered far too long and are now finding resolutions for.

Full Moon in the Eleventh House celebrates our friendships, associations, and our individual place within the society/world we live in. This full moon cycle is ideal for networking, active participation in social settings, pursuing civic-minded activities, etc. Make connections; meet like-minded people; surround yourself with others sharing similar goals. As full moons bring endings/closures, there may be some ties that will be cut during this full moon cycle.

Full Moon in the Twelfth House emphasizes our need for solitude to recharge, decompress, and rest. The full moon cycle may be a time for aloneness, to reconnect with our subconscious drives, psychological self, and shed light on the deepest parts of us. Escape into our selves, uncover what has been hidden, and unravel the mystery that is the self.

saturn-in-libraSaturn is presently moving through the last decanate (the last ten degrees) of the sign of Virgo, and will enter Libra October 29th 2009 at 1:09PM EDT and will stay in Libra until April 6th 2010 when it goes back into Virgo, and then re enters Libra July 21, 2010 and will stay in Libra until October 5th 2012. Saturn retrogrades at 4-5 degrees Libra mid-January 2010, re-entering Virgo on April 7, 2010. Saturn then turns direct near the end of May, 2010, and returns to Libra on July 21, 2010. In essence we have three years that we are ask to focus on and put energy towards peace, fairness, and a well balanced life. Venus, the ruler of Libra, is also in Libra. This is emphasizing the Saturn in Libra purpose of establishing healthy partnerships and especially romantic relationships. It is common to hear more news of divorce as Saturn moves through Libra as it uncovers unhealthy patterns that have been ignored.

Just for starters: Saturn in Libra is going to square Pluto just as fast as his Father Time legs will let him. Specifically for most of November. That means the period right before then will see the advance vibes jostling and hurling insults at each other.

The trash-talking won’t end in 2009 though. In January 2010, Saturn will slow down and station at 4 degrees Libra specifically so he can let Pluto catch up and they can continue their argument for another 3 weeks or so. Saturn will then be forced to say ‘whatever dude’ to Pluto and retreat back to Virgo for awhile to lick his wounds. Saturn and Pluto will then have another brief skirmish in August 2010. That’s 3 if you’re counting.

Just before round 3 with Pluto in August, Saturn will also try to pick a fight with Uranus, which will be in Aries by then. So we’ll see the same old Saturn/Uranus grudge match carried into a new pair of signs. It will be more of a brawl than usual in August 2010, because onlookers Jupiter and Mars will finally be drawn in. Jupiter will be in Aries and Mars will be in Libra. That would typically equate to a whole lot of shouting with some random and frantic efforts at peacemaking thrown in.

Saturn’s effect is to shape up, to ground, and to solidify. Generally, the effect of Saturn transiting a house is felt in a more pronounced way in the first part of its transit through the house, as well as when it forms aspects to natal planets. Toward the end of the house, the native tends to have gained increased understanding—experience, if you will—with the effects. Saturn’s movement by transit through the houses acts to aid us to learn to depend on ourselves in different areas of life. At first, we generally encounter feelings of being thwarted or unsupported by the outside world in the particular areas of life that are ruled by the house. By the end of the house transit, we will have learned to look within ourselves for support.

In general, as Saturn passes through the fire houses (the first, fifth, and ninth), we deal with self-confidence issues and how these issues have affected our lives and our productivity. Through the earth houses (the second, sixth, and tenth), we confront issues of self-worth and effectiveness. Through the air houses (the third, seventh, and eleventh), we evaluate our relationships with others and how much (or how little) we can depend on these, as well as our mental outlook. Through the water houses (the fourth, eighth, and twelfth), we re-evaluate our inner stores of faith, our connection with the past, and our psychological workings.

Saturn makes us accountable for ourselves wherever it touches. Each house governs specific areas of our lives, and of our personalities, and transits of Saturn will bring these areas up for “inspection”, re-organization, and restructure.

Some Tips to Handle Saturn Transits:

Saturn teaches us about the value of moderation and caution. Perhaps the best way to “handle” hard Saturn transits to the houses of your chart is to avoid fighting these lessons. Accept that, at this time in your life, things may move at a slower speed (even a snail’s pace). Saturn wants us to work hard, put our energies into practical, useful, and meaningful projects, and to live in the “here and now”. This period in your life is a time for building a solid foundation. Understand that moderation at this point in your life is necessary for your spiritual growth and your physical body as well. Avoid blaming others for where you are at now for extended periods of time (some self-pity, however, may be necessary in order to gather strength and the ability to depend on yourself, however)—doing this will only lead to feelings of melancholy and anger. Know that this period in your life, while temporary, is a time for learning about your personal limits as well as your inner strength. Carry these lessons as you move beyond this phase, because how you handle your life now will make all the difference as Saturn moves into the successive house in your chart.

Techniques for Preparing for the Future and Understanding the Past

Themes we can expect while Saturn moves through the sign of Libra, on a personal level, revolve around taking a more serious look at our one-to-one relationships. Whether a partnership restricts us or not comes into focus, as well as whether or not the goals of each partner complement one another. Treating each other fairly is a theme, and it can take numerous negotiations and examinations in order to get to a place we will consider fair.

Are we pleasing a partner because we are afraid to assert ourselves, our needs, or our goals? Are we compromising our own needs in the process?

Saturn will be looking for balance, integrity, and fairness in the sign of Libra. We will be redesigning our definition of “self” that includes an “other”. Our ability to commit comes into question. Our ability to play by the rules in partnership also becomes critical. This is a time during which we explore our personal boundaries in partnership. Just how much a partnership limits us becomes glaringly apparent, especially in terms of our own fear of losing someone, or fear of rejection, and how that fear might limit our personal freedom.

If we’ve been giving more than taking, or taking more than giving, in an existing partnership, Saturn’s transit through Libra will point out the flaws in that type of arrangement. It’s all about responsibility and doing our share. If we’ve been unhappy with a partner’s contribution to the relationship, Saturn’s transit might magnify the problem in our minds.

Saturn does invoke a craving for whatever sign it inhabits or planet it touches. In Libra, we will be craving balance, but it will take some time to get there. Saturn slows things down to a near-stall, and this can be agonizing, if we are impatient or wanting instant results. Saturn takes its time, and this is a good thing. We can get to a healthy, balanced decision only if we take our time doing so.

Initially we can experience reluctance to compromise ourselves, but doing so in a balanced way brings about the eventual realization that we need the “other” in order to achieve. With Saturn, a desire to gain control is present, and some of us might attempt to control an “other”, and it’s a tendency we should try to avoid. Eventually and ideally, we understand that it is only ourselves who we can control.

The more negative expressions of Libra are things that won’t work for us now. These become glaring under Saturn’s stern eye. Resorting to appeasement as a means of keeping the peace is one such negative expression. Too often, partnerships turn into “me against you”. The goal in partnership should be to work as a team rather than as adversaries.

Saturn’s exalted position in Libra suggests perhaps easier lessons, or lessons that are more digestible, than they were while Saturn was in its “detriment” in Cancer and Leo, for example, and even while Saturn has been in Virgo.

Saturn in Libra is just and fair. They are refined and intellectual. They are natural diplomats and have a great sense of tact. They cooperate rather than compete, which makes it easy for them to work with others.

Libra Saturn may not get into relationships easily. Marriage may take a lot of work to be successful. They tend to have a bit of an inferiority complex when it comes to relationships. They may inadvertently run off those who are interested in getting to know them because they feel unlovable. They are afraid of rejection, and may try to shut themselves away. On the other hand, Saturn can stabilize Libran characteristics, making them more decisive and stable.

Saturn in Libra craves a solid relationship, but they may break the rules they set themselves, causing problems with their partner. They may limit themselves in fear of losing their partner. On the other hand, they have no problems using a partner simply for appearances.

For success, they must learn how to relate to other people on a personal and social level. They need to take responsibility for their actions in relationships. It lies entirely in their hands whether a relationship will be the source of growth or suffering. If they are receptive, reliable, tactful and organized, they could gain status and wealth.

Physically, Libra Saturn can have issues with the kidneys, intestine and lower back. They are not overly emotional. When a decision needs to be made, they weigh the pros and cons carefully. They need to find the balance between love and discipline, and give of themselves. Flexibility, patience and endurance will be skills that are often used.

When all is aligned, Saturn in Libra is pleasant, cares about others, and is tireless in serving. They can be artistic, or help civilize those who need the lessons. The companionship they seek can give them solace and security.

Transits of Saturn trough the Signs

Not everyone will feel the effects immediately, though. Cardinal signs or people with planets in early degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) should feel the effects the soonest.

Here’s a preview of Saturn in Libra for the various sun signs. We are going to be using the keyword relationships to represent the influence of Libra. For Saturn we will be using the concept that the planet points out areas where things are not as you would wish them to be, so that you can take actions and make corrections. Note that both Saturn and Libra relate to a lot more than this, so this is only one slice of the many potential possibilities. If you know your ascending sign read that also tat sign.

Aries: Saturn is moving out of your solar 6th house of work and health and into the sign opposite yours. This puts him in your solar 7th house of relationships. The most straightforward interpretation of this is that Saturn will point out to you which relationships in your life are not all that they could be or that your approach to relationships is not what you want it to be. Some of you will be literally battling it out with boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses, exes, or even enemies and rivals. Stuff comes out into the open during a Saturn transit. You are likely to have a new appreciation for the virtues of peace by the time Saturn leaves and thus a better handle on ways to avoid unnecessary conflict.

Taurus: Saturn is moving from your solar 5th house of love affairs and children to your solar 6th house. Saturn here tends to be stressful and to focus on either health or work issues. Saturn here can point out when relationships stress you and cut down your health and vitality. Proactive stress management becomes important. Relationships at work could also tax your patience. Saturn in an air sign teaches detachment as a road to stress relief and counteracts the natural tendency of an earth sign to react subjectively and emotionally in relationships.

Gemini: Saturn is moving off an angle (your solar 4th house) and into your solar 5th house of love affairs and children. This is a better spot for Saturn to be in for your sign. Your energy level and vitality may well pick up as Saturn moves away from a stressful angle with your sun. You may also find new abilities to be creative and disciplined at the same time. On the other hand, Saturn can point out where your relationship with girlfriends and boyfriends, etc. is not exactly what you want. The same idea applies to your relationships with your children. Saturn will ask you to solve problems in these areas.

Cancer: Saturn is moving away from your solar 3rd house onto an angle, your solar 4th house. The 4th house relates to family and virtually everything that is an offshoot of family–your home, your parents, your roots, your genetic, racial or national heritage, and the effects of those things on your life. Saturn here also opposes your solar midheaven (the MC generally refers to your career or public life). Attention to family members can take time away from focusing on your career, sometimes quite literally in the case of people who quit jobs to care for elderly parents. In general, though, Saturn shows you where your relationships with your family (especially parents or the older generation) are not all that you would like. You’ll be challenged to work through issues and problems and perhaps establish a bit more of your own identity.

Leo: Saturn moves away from your solar second house of finances to your solar third house. This can be a real relief, especially if your energy has been flagging. The third house is primarily a mental house (i.e., relates to the mind), so Saturn here can show you where your mental activities are not what you want them to be, and it can start encouraging you to proactively exercise your brain. The third house also relates to siblings, cousins, and other relationships that occur in everyday life (e.g., those with neighbors). Actively engaging in daily social relationships is good for your brain, too! If you have problems with your siblings, Saturn may well point this out to you. Problems here can be productively addressed.

Virgo: Saturn moves out of your sign and into your solar second house. The second house relates to finances and to what you own. A typical example of Saturn here (not the only one) is to point out how acquiring possessions to keep up the with Joneses or to impress other people can be self-defeating and burdensome. Saturn here can depress income (lower it), but it can also leave your income alone and encourage you to stop spending so much. Issues of joint finances and how you and your spouse relate on money can come up as well, especially since Uranus will be moving into your 8th house of marital finances next year. Becoming more conscious of how you spend money is almost a necessity during this transit.

Libra: Saturn will be moving out of your solar 12th house and into your own sign. Typically, this can affect how you present yourself to others. People often become aware of how they are defining themselves during a Saturn transit to their sign and they start feeling that they want to make a step up in how they advertise themselves to others. Sometimes it is said that Saturn in your own sign is a ‘bad’ transit, but in my experience with people it is not overall worse than having Saturn in another spot. In fact, you can make substantial changes in your life during a Saturn transit. Making the changes may be stressful, but the changes themselves are not. It is true, though, that almost all of your relationships can be affected by this transit to your sign, and not just one or two–because it is you yourself that is changing.

Scorpio:  Saturn will be moving out of your solar 11th house of friendships and into your solar 12th house. Typically, a Saturn transit here changes your relationship with yourself more than with anyone else. A common response to Saturn in the 12th house is to become more socially isolated. Sometimes this is on purpose, sometimes due to circumstances, and sometimes both. Saturn in the 12th house is maybe not the ultimate ‘get to know yourself on a deeper level’ transit, but it does come close. Like any Saturn transit, it can point out to you areas where your relationship with yourself is really not what you’d like. Then you have a chance to correct problems.

Sagittarius: Saturn will be moving off an angle (your 10th house of career) and into your solar 11th house. On a straightforward level, Saturn here can affect your relationships with your friends. You may feel cooler toward them or vice versa. You may identify problems that need to be corrected. The same thing applies to groups you belong to. You may feel a need to straighten out problems there. On a larger level, Saturn in the 11th can affect how you relate to society in general. Your networking via social media sites can change, but also some of your deeper convictions and sense of contentment with how your life as a member of society is going. Social issues may affect you more profoundly. This can be good, in the sense of greater engagement with the world at large, and not so good, as you realize that society’s ills affect you personally.

Capricorn: Saturn enters your solar 10th house of career. This is like a triple whammy for you and it is not just the routine transit. That’s because Saturn is your ruler and the 10th house is ‘your’ house–the one associated with your sign. You’ve also got Pluto in your sign, putting more attention on you. To add to all that, Uranus will be moving into Aries and another angle of your chart (4th house–family). Saturn in the 10th is said to have 2 different kinds of effects. One would be typified by something like a promotion, wherein you gain more responsibilities and have to adjust. The other would be frustration with your career, often occasioned by relationships with other people. The typical tactful Capricorn strategy for climbing the ladder may suddenly appear to be fraught with problems and costs you didn’t previously find important. Career problem-solving becomes a top priority.

Aquarius: Saturn moves out of your solar 8th house of debt, joint and marital finances  and various financial troubles and into your solar 9th house. The 9th house relates to a lot of things, some of them rather abstract. It is considered a much easier place to have Saturn in your transit chart than the 8th house. Part of this is because Saturn will be moving into a sign that is compatible with your sun. The 9th house relates to the search for reasons and purpose and meaning. A typical response to Saturn in Libra would be to look for the reasons behind other people’s behavior, to become more other-focused again after the stresses of the 8th house. The 9th house also relates to a lot of other things like publishing, higher education, and travel. So some will see long-term projects in those areas. But mostly it allows you to look at problems with others from a more detached, less gloomy or worried perspective than Saturn in Virgo.

Pisces: Saturn moves off an angle (7th house of relationships) and into your solar 8th house. The 8th house has to do with marital finances, debt, and quite often general financial problems. A fairly typical example of Saturn in the 8th would be a spouse with severe financial problems, perhaps due to a job layoff or other difficulty. This is the most financially hazardous house in which to find Saturn and a great deal of attention must be paid (in many cases) to financial problem-solving. Not the best transit under which to co-sign a loan with anyone. On a deeper level, Saturn spotlights who you choose to merge with, as virtually anyone you are financially entangled with could present problems. So the transit becomes an opportunity to become more conscious of the choices you make in relationships.

The constellation Libra is the Scales, representing the weighing of both sides, and balance and fairness in relationships. It’s a good time to forgive, find resolution or reach a compromise. We’re more apt to find just the right gesture or word to set things right. Sometimes all it takes is being open to the other person’s perspective. And it’s miraculous how the words, “I’m sorry” have a way of setting the stage for resolution.

Balance in relationships can be a subtle thing. I once had the realization that my friend from college had been treating me for a long time, and it had led to things feeling off. Mainly it had to do with me having very little money and her having a lot. But it smarted when her boyfriend pointed it out. Without saying anything, I started picking up the tab when we met, and it has slowly started to right itself. A pinnacle moment was when I took them both to lunch when they were in town.

Libra is about give and take, and we can see now whether we’ve been giving or taking too much. We can see this month which relationships have equilibrium, and which are out of whack. We can see where our needs are met, or not. Libra is an initiating cardinal sign, giving us the gumption to act to set things right

When the Moon is new in Libra the Sun is also in Virgo.

MOON of QUALITY

The NEW MOON of October 17-18 (1:33am EDT) takes place IN LIBRA. This sign of The Scales seeks to balance and harmonize. Though Libra may be argumentative, it is usually motivated by a sense of fair play, to have all sides aired, mediating a win-win scenario.

MERCURY and VENUS

The quality of this Moon is enhanced by the presence of Mercury and, most significantly, Venus in Libra. Venus as ruler of Libra wins the day with beauty and harmony. Yet one of the most dynamic planetary interplays of this New Moon pattern is the challenge made between Venus and Pluto, inscrutable and mysterious dwarf planet that necessitates letting go of the old to allow a renaissance. A Hindu version of Venus is Lakshmi, a gorgeous goddess dressed in a gold-trimmed red sari sitting on a full blooming lotus, showers petals and gold coins raining down around her. This is an enriching image of the cosmic feminine to invoke in times of financial stress, even as we head further into national and global discussions about our mutual situation.

 PLUTO POWER

Pluto is about the power-players that run the world systems. Venus has a power of her own, woman power. With Pluto and Venus deep in negotiations, we can expect other such negotiations are going on about the economy. The power players are changing.

No matter what is going on in the power echelons, we each participate in the larger dialogue in the choices we make about how we spend money, placing our dollars where our true values lay. Venus rules the power of attraction, the emotional intelligence that resonates from the inside out and invites into our lives just what mirrors our emotional state of being. How awful does it have to get before we can’t stand it any more and make some changes? This is the time. With Saturn going into Libra at the end of this month, dialogue is required and choices are going to be made. Let’s take charge of our personal choices.

THAT TRIPLE CONJUNCTION IN MOTION

Meanwhile this New Moon is in excellent alignment with the ongoing, rare triple conjunction of planets in Aquarius. Jupiter offers expansion and wisdom, meta-physical Neptune refines the energy that can be experienced as anxiety and/or sensitivity, and Chiron raise the bar of paradigm shift. Soon after their peak conjunction in May, all three planets turned to retrograde motion, giving us a period of time to integrate the implications of the global realignment in progress. Now all three are moving forward again.

Occurring on October 18, the Libra new Moon promises some interesting insights and realizations.

The Sabian Symbol is Libra 25: The Sight of an Autumn Leaf Brings to a Pilgrim the Sudden Revelation of the Mystery of Life and Death.

This Symbol can indicate an insight into something that can change the course of one’s life. The “Autumn Leaf” in this Symbol brings to the “Pilgrim” the “Sudden” understanding of the cycle of life, death and rebirth. The “Mystery of Life” seems to unfold before the “Pilgrim’s” inner vision. He can see that the seed has grown into a tree and the tree’s leaves have now fallen with the change of the seasons, ready for the new birth in the spring. The “Autumn Leaf” becomes the composted material that nourishes the new seeds and fosters and nourishes new growth. Often we go through our lives without noticing the information that can be gained from looking at small or seemingly insignificant things. The “Revelation” that is experienced can change one’s life, if time is taken to stop long enough to really look into it. At this point, you may feel that you’ve learned much but have grown tired of seeking information for life’s meaning through more conventional channels. Look for answers to your problems in simple, everyday moments. They are fleeting, but they are around you. Look for the signs, they can have profound effects.

The following are my keywords for this degree: Seasonal adjustments, fleeting inspiration, seeing things in their own time, spiritual revelations, conversations with God, feeling blessed, the beauty and timelessness of nature, contact with nature spirits, angelic visions, photography and having a photographic mind, being here now, pilgrims and their journeys, the Hadj pilgrimage, solving problems, quick and deep minds, snapshots in time.

Saturn is bringing an interesting insight into the fact that some conventional types of wisdom or knowledge may not bring people the insights and information that they are seeking. Obviously, we still must be seekers, or pilgrims on the path, but we need to be discriminating (good Saturn word there) about what we allow to influence us.

The Sabian Symbol of Saturn on this new Moon is Virgo 29: a Man is Gaining Secret Knowledge from an Ancient Scroll He is Reading.

This speaks of learning from ancient mysteries, looking for answers, study and its rewards, reading between the lines, finding clues from the past and applying them to the present, being privileged to look into something special, alchemy, the Bible, the Torah, the Koran, manuscripts, scrolls, ancient writings, Akashic records, classified documents, secret papers, scrolls, etc.

Venus is on a wonderful Symbol at Libra 5: A Man Teaching the True Inner Knowledge of the New World to His Students.

This speaks of guidance and protection on the path, being a guiding light for others, imparting knowledge, wisdom, looking for truth, seeking answers to complicated questions, listening and learning, turning to others to receive guidance, speaking one’s truth.

The idea of having one’s realizations and ideas coming to light is amplified with Venus moving the day after the new Moon onto the degree

Libra 6: A Man Watches His Ideals Taking a Concrete Form Before His Inner Vision.

Libra 5 and Libra 6 were accentuated in the recent Mercury retrograde phase. This means it is really important that we realize the lessons that are coming to us now and there’s the need to bring these insights and understanding into our everyday lives.

The issue of things that are fleeting holding special messages is amplified by Mercury (the one who brings messages – the communicator) on

Libra 13: Children Blowing Soap Bubbles.

This speaks of having fun, enjoying one’s life, being lighthearted, and, in the context of this new Moon, it speaks rather strongly of taking notice of things that are said on the spur of the moment – lightly – it can show those moments or sentiments when things are said as a kind of ‘throw away line’ as these can have extraordinary significance for you and others.

Compounding this need for finding meaning or seeking knowledge is the Moon’s south node on Cancer 26: Guests Are Reading in the Library of a Luxurious Home.

This speaks about sharing thoughts and ideas, libraries, reading rooms, quietly chatting, books, magazines, study groups, having friends over.

The Moon’s north node holds a message that we need to grasp as we skip along the pilgrim’s path kicking those autumn leaves and thinking about eternity.

The Symbol is Capricorn 26: A Nature Spirit Dancing in the Mist of a Waterfall.

We need to keep our minds and spirits effervescent and carefree. Whilst we are best served by being observant about the clues all around you, we need to keep a light-hearted and young attitude and we need to remember to dance! Jupiter is asking us to reveal ourselves or parts of ourselves.

The Sabian Symbol for Jupiter is Aquarius 18: A Man Unmasked at a Masquerade.

Plumbing the depths of yourself, and perhaps others, is going to help to bring these new understandings to you. Perhaps it’s the new understandings that take away the masks? Regardless, it’s time to be more authentic and more upfront and honest about who we are.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Sabian Symbol for the degree after (the Quest degree) the new Moon. This is because just moments after the new Moon, both the Moon and the Sun move onto the next degree. This is because the new Moon is at 24Libra58, which is right on the last minutes of the Pilgrim degree.

The Sabian Symbol is Libra 26: An Eagle and a Large White Dove Turning Constantly Into Each Other.

This Symbol says there’s a need to temper one’s will with love while bolstering one’s emotional responses with strength. It speaks of cooperation of mind, will, spirit and heart = being soft and strong at the same time. We need to be strong, but not aggressive, firm without being too assertive, confident without being oppressive and kind without being weak.

Quite the test, but one thing’s certain; we learn a lot by watching what’s happening on the path.

Critical Degrees:

Astrologically speaking, the Sun stands for your inner nature and stamps your innermost character. With slinky Scorpio as your sign, the Sun blazed in a passionate water sign in the zodiac on your birthday. Scorpio, the eighth sign of the Zodiac, is feminine, ruled by fierce Mars, the warrior planet and dark Pluto, the planet of transformation. A fixed (strong and solid) sign, Scorpio governs will and authority. Scorpio people are passionate and emotional, with very deep feelings. Although you are a loyal and dedicated friend, you are fiercely competitive, subject to fits of vindictive jealousy – and can be quite manipulative in pursuit of your goals.
Symbols for Scorpio are the scorpion, a ground-dwelling killer with a poisonous sting in its tail, and the eagle, a far-seeing predator soaring above petty problems into the spiritual sky. Scorpio’s real involvement is not primarily based on love or even pleasure, but on the control and understanding of human emotions and the role they play in the mysterious processes of life and death. Though you may not spend your life pondering the mysteries of life and death, you are inquisitive and probing, fascinated with how things and people work. Your mental and physical powers of recuperation are remarkable — and truly evolved (eagle) Scorpios can learn to use their power to help and inspire others.

Stamina and Tenacity

Determined Scorpio can be rather stubborn and resistant to imposed changes. In many ways this is a plus, for it gives you the stamina to accomplish things in life, due to your tenacity. On the surface you may seem easy-going, congenial, and gregarious, but you are also extremely tenacious with a need to manipulate and control your situations.
Keys to your success are a strong will and the ability to get to the bottom of things. You want answers and will doggedly persist until you get them.

The fiery energy of Mars shines out when you are enthusiastic; it attracts and inspires others. Your intensity can be overwhelming, but also subtle, for your considerable energy is not aroused or employed just to have something to do — as is often the case with Aries, the other Mars-ruled personality. Unlike Aries, Scorpio is not openly combative, unless it becomes necessary. Your privacy is tightly protected, so others only get to know you up to a point. You may not show any sign of inner struggle, but when you are after something (or someone) your determination is fierce — and should you not be favoured in the outcome, you are neither a willing nor a gracious loser. Nevertheless, you are not arrogant, being genuinely interested in others and what they have to say, although you often exhibit a self-sufficiency which implies there isn’t much you don’t already know.

Deepest Mysteries

The transformative energy of Pluto motivates you, as you delve into the deepest mysteries of life. Whether you are trying to get to the bottom of a murder, or some heinous crime, or whether you are saving a life through your surgical skills, or pursuing a meditative magical mystery tour, you characteristically seek to uncover the truth or to transform raw materials into things of great power and beauty. Relationships are not exempt from this probing, so anyone involved with you must prepare for profound changes in themselves, their mysterious partner and the relationship itself.

You have, however, a strong constitution and can usually overcome your problems, many of which are of your own making, due to your clandestine activities.

Scorpio rules metallic iron and your birthstone is the topaz. Topaz, one of the hardest minerals, cannot be cut with a knife. It is yet another representation of the impenetrable Scorpio nature. Scorpio flowers include the anemone, heather, and gardenia.

AriesFullMoonFull Moon in Libra, October 4 at 2:10 am

When the Moon is full in Aries, the Sun is in the opposite sign of Libra. Aries is a cardinal sign, making it about instigating, activating and launching the new. Aries is a fire sign, with an emphasis on being animated, high-spirited, enthusiastic and eager to act.

Full Moon in Aries: fresh starts; courageous actions; risking confrontation to be authentic; forceful self-expression; the purifying fire of unsentimental truth; taking a stand; being at the edge of new experience; personal charisma.

This Full Moon illuminates: the catharsis of being true to yourself; the rewards of going beyond your comfort zone; the thrill of acting on impulse; the exciting heat of friction between strong personalities; your impetuous side.

It’s a Good Time to: nurture hope in new beginnings; entertain big changes like career shifts; fake it ’til you make it; act on strong intuitive hunches; face a threat directly; allow buried passions to emerge and find expression; honor the messages that guide your unique destiny; act on true desires, not what you think you “should” do; take a bold step toward what you really, really want; do what makes you feel alive!

The Sabian Symbol are:

Aries 12: A Flock of Wild Geese:

This is a beautifully inspiring image of brotherhood and Aquarian ideals. Watching ’Geese’ fly can inspire feelings of group cohesion and the beauty of natural rhythms. The ‘Flock’ shows the need to join with others in a journey or quest. Remember to take your cue from the ‘Wild Geese’ – when they fly in formation, they take turns in leading the way. Likewise, when one gets tired or sick, another takes the lead. Whilst this is a Symbol of working together with others, be wary of losing your sense of individuality. There may be a feeling of wanting to leave behind previous life constraints; to spread your wings and seek freedom from difficulties.

Libra 12: Miners Are Emerging From a Deep Coal Mine.

This is such a diametrically opposing Symbol from the Geese with their purity, whiteness and affinity for snow. The ‘Miners’ often have blackened or darkened faces and clothes; no slipstream for them, their domain is deep within, confined, often dangerous, going places that few dare to go. The Geese fly above in wonderful formation, acting as a community, although the Coal Miners do this as well – they have to support and look out for one another. They’ve been working hard, and now the siren has sounded and their shift is finished. Coming back to the surface, they can take a deep breath and feel themselves infused with fresh energy.

This particular full moon is especially energetic and will play in the houses where it falls in your personal chart but also in the area of relationships or the me/we axis.  Do people need people or do people need to be independent?

This is a question to ask and perhaps answer under the full Moon. You may not answer the question forever but you might answer the question for now and in whatever case, this is a big debate and especially topical with Saturn into Libra.

As for the enhanced energy of the full moon, I am calling it that way because as the moon is full, Mercury simultaneously opposes Uranus.  Whenever you have an opposition in astrology, relationships feature.  Mercury rules communications but also neighbors and siblings so shocks and stand-offs as well as surprise reconciliations are possible.

These things affect the collective but people with personal planets caught up here are especially impacted. We are talking 8-14 degrees Cardinal and/or 20-26 degrees mutable.

Across which axis does the full Moon land in your chart?

 ______________________________________________

EquinoxThe fall Equinox is here!

The word ‘equinox’ is derived from the Latin word that means ‘equal’ and Libra is a sign that is interested in fairness and equality. It is time to compromise, and those who know how to conduct themselves with poise will be miles ahead of everybody else. Meet people halfway when possible and seek common ground rather than highlight your differences.

It’s the first day of Autumn, when day and night are equal, before the “fall” of the Sun this time of year. Get some pumpkins, a harvest time thing that brightens the kitchen table. Simple acts to celebrate the turning of the season can be comforting, since they’re symbols of the continuity of the solar year. Dark and light are balanced, and the Sun goes into the sign of the scales, Libra. We’re heading into a time of dire choice, and Libra’s clarity and instinct for harmony helps us see the way.

We can expect epic changes this fall. Some of this comes from the collective “awakening” to a world in extreme imbalance. The grand trine of Uranus-Mars-Moon in water signs, intensifies our feelings. It has the power to break us free from the collective trance, and what she calls, “mind control programs.” And that waking up is critical, given that so many leaders seem hopelessly hooked on the profits of disease and war, to the despair of most of humanity.

But there’s a chance for dramatic re-balancing here, as the Sun in Libra comes into a square to Pluto exact on Wednesday. With Pluto direct the demolition of what we’ve had accelerates. It’s a moment to reshape the very way society, government, our institutions operate. Out of the ruins of crumbling structures, we can choose the sane path with Libran values of justice, fairness, harmony. Libra is Venus-ruled, and soon the energy of the wise feminine will come into play. This gets some muscle when Saturn goes into Libra later this fall, where the great teacher is exalted, and able to make an impact. I’ve been encouraging a few women I know to run for office!

The equinox chart has other strong aspects that bring the feminine to the fore. “Venus in Virgo” is healing and grounded, and her trine to Pluto suggests that feminine guidance will play a major role this fall as the reeling colossus-America as empire-unravels and collapses. This trine will inspire many people to consider their true values, especially when they lose their homes and income, while the empire sends more troops off to unknown lands, as if they are the disposable elements of overpopulation. We’re heading into an “extreme time” when having peace and love in the heart is the only thing that will help us.

We can see clearly what we’re reaping and what we can sow for a better world. Libra is a cardinal air sign that makes its presence known, as a force striving for equilibrium. It’s a sign that reminds us that thoughts are powerful currents of energy, out of which our 3D world is shaped. What kind of world do we want to see reflected back to us? This fall we start to feel the power of the people as a whole to make real change. “This fall is a time when we must see the truth above all else.”

Rosh Hashana and Astrology

audioPlayerLogo“In the seventh month, on the first of the month (New Moon), shall be for you a day of rest, a remembrance of the sounding of the shofar.”
–Leviticus 23:23-25.

If you are human, or consider yourself an offspring of Adam and Eve, then your mythological birthday is coming up on the New Moon, September 18th. Let me be the first or perchance the only one to wish you — Happy Birthday! Make sure you buy yourself a gift; besides helping the economy it will make you feel better.

According to rabbinical lore, Adam and Eve, our primal parents, were created on Rosh Hashanah, which traditionally falls on the New Moon of the seventh month (see quote above). A closer look at the biblical text reveals that God did not only create Adam and Eve on the sixth day, but also gave birth to the concept of relationships. Friday, Veneris in Latin, named after Venus, is the day Adam and Eve were born. The fact we were created under the influence of a benevolent planet is a reassurance that we cannot be that bad after all.

Since the biblical and zodiac year begins in Aries, then Libra, the seventh sign is the month mentioned in Leviticus. Libra, ruled by Venus, is the sign of relationship, marriage and contracts. The fact that our common ancestors, Adam and Eve, were created on a New Moon in Libra is a great sign for all of our relationships. It means that embedded in our mythological “DNA” is the potential of having harmonious and balanced relationships. To this affect, at least according to Astrology and the Bible, we are innately good.

On Rosh Hashanah it is a custom to blow the Shofar, the ram’s horn. This ancient ritual is multi-layered and carries a great deal of symbolism. The Ram is associated with Aries, the sign that begins the biblical as well as Astrological New Year. On the zodiac wheel, Aries is located opposite Libra. Together they create the first set of opposing signs. You can say that Aries (ruled by Mars, the archetype of Adam) falls in love with Libra (ruled by Venus, the archetype of Eve) on Rosh Hashanah.

The symbolism of the New Moon of the Seventh Month goes even deeper considering the fact that Rosh Hashanah is celebrated precisely halfway through the zodiac. With six signs before and six signs after, Rosh Hashanah is a watershed of energies. According to astrology the year is divided into two main parts. The first half stretches from spring to the end of summer and is masculine and active, while the second half stretches from fall to the end of winter and is feminine and receptive. The borderline between these two halves is the Fall Equinox when the day and night, the masculine and feminine, are equal and balanced. That is the mythos-logic of having the Fall Equinox mark the beginning of the sign Libra, the sign of the scales. This year the Equinox takes place on September 22, a few days past Rosh Hashanah. Astrology asserts that in the masculine extrovert part of the year, which is now coming to a close, humanity is busy acting, doing, building, sawing, reaping, working, collecting and creating. During the feminine introvert part of the year, we are focused more on assessing, reevaluating, deepening, editing, processing, dreaming, healing and assimilating everything we have done in the active part of the year.

The wise rabbis and biblical writers noticed these cyclical dynamics and established a 10 day period following Rosh Hashanah dedicated to atonement. The 10 days of contemplations leading to Yom Kippur are a kind of a transition between the active and reactive parts of the year. In Sanskrit this very process is called Karma, which means action and reaction. Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, called the High Holy Days, are the Biblical version of Karma. “Whatever a man sows so shall he also reap.” Whatever actions you have taken from spring till this coming New Moon, now is the time to reflect, ask forgiveness, and take responsibility.

In Astrology, Saturn is the planet associated with Karma as well as the process of taking responsibility for past actions. Karma and Saturn define the process of Universal Justice. It is not surprising that the liturgy of the High Holy Days is loaded with prayers containing judicial terminology. The Orthodox Jews believe God has two books he reads and writes during the 10 days following Rosh Hashanah: the book of the living and the book of the dead. They believe that God reviews all of our actions and decides what is the appropriate reaction: death or life. If God writes your name in the book of the living, you shall live and prosper. Here is a quote from the most powerful prayer of Rosh Hashanah called Unetanah Tokef:

On Rosh Hashanah it is inscribed,
And on Yom Kippur it is sealed.
How many shall pass away and how many shall be born,
Who shall live and who shall die,
Who shall reach the end of his days and who shall not,
Who shall perish by water and who by fire,
Who by sword and who by wild beast,
Who by famine and who by thirst,
Who by earthquake and who by plague…

In Astrology, a planet’s power changes depending on the sign it is located in. Since Karma and Saturn are associated with divine justice, according to astrology, when Saturn is in Libra it exerts the most amount of influence. In the next two years, as Saturn moves to Libra for the first time in 30 years, we can expect a great deal of “burning of bad Karma.” In other words, we will all experience the reactions of the actions we took in the last 30 years. That is another reason to blow the shofar. The sound of the ram’s horn is said to obliterate and ward off demons, who we now a days call by their more spiritually correct names: negative energies, shame, regret, jealousy and disease. In folklore, the armies of elves, wizards and angels awake and gather at the sound of the ram’s horn. Have a happy Rosh Hashanah, and a great New Moon and…start praying…

Miracle Healing

Here’s a chance to surrender to a crucible of healing, and emerge at the New Moon with a sense of wholeness. The New Moon in Virgo, the sign that examines the pieces, and comes up with strategies that fix what’s broken, heal the wounds and work off bad karma. Along with the two luminaries (Sun and Moon), Saturn and Mercury Rx are also in Virgo. These planets anchor us in the awareness of the physical, the reality of our daily lives. We can see what’s really going on, and visions at this psychic time show us how to ‘earth’ those visions.

Time to Rest

I love the dark of the Moon, when we’re pulled into the Great Mystery and can rest there. It’s a time to meet the void and allow it to work its magic on us. It can awaken us to new possibilities with messages, dreams, a sense of renewal. Virgo has an earthbound quality, as a sign that is about refining what is. Saturn’s presence in Virgo adds even more sobriety to the moment, and the stark reality might be hard to accept. But the New Moon allows us a chance to take responsibility, to live in the “real world,” no matter how tempting it is to stay in denial.

Grand Awakening

The bleak outlook (or just very challenging) is contrasted to Uranus’ sparking of a grand awakening in the heart of everyone. It’s waking us up to shared wonder. It’s cracking open our hearts, so they can be the guide from now on. This New Moon sees us planting the seeds of reconciling “what is” with the wonder of what could be.

The planets in Virgo are also square to Pluto in Capricorn. That’s why this is a crucible of healing that gets to the heart of what’s making us sick. We can more easily see cause and effect, and note what role our institutions (government, health care, agriculture, pharmaceutical) play in that dis-ease. We get past the surface aches to the core problems, some of which may have to do with how society itself is structured.

Moody Mars

Mars is in Cancer and this causes us to be motivated by what we’re feeling. This amplifies the outbursts that come with the heart shocks of Uranus. We may overreact, get defensive, act on imagined fears or retreat in wounded silence. The vital energy of our emotions takes us to the heart truth of situations. It may cause energy fluctuations, but it’s cardinal energy that is able to initiate from the foundation of that heart truth. It’s an ally in a month of healing and integration.

Venus in Leo/Opposite Neptune Aquarius

Is it true that America is the most alienated modern society in existence today? That means that we walk around detached from others, neighbors estranged, as if in our own worlds. We’re warmed up with Venus in Leo, with an infusion to the heart. The desire to create and share our story is set against an awareness of the web of humanity. It inspires us to share our particular talents, in service to the whole. This New Moon is a great time to recommit to your creativity, with a promise of daily actions that help you hone your craft.

The Essential You

The bottom line is that this New Moon is a portal to integrating your many parts. It’s not easy, and you might walk through some pockets of physical-emotional-psychic pain on the way to healing. Gather up the tools that help you stay strong and focused. Make sure you have time to unwind, so you can benefit from the richest solitude of the year. Love your body, with all its imperfections. Resolve to evolve, both in the slow Saturnian kind and the Uranian leaps of faith way.

This New Moon asks us to see what we’ve got, right here and right now. And to drop whatever we’re carrying that is hurting us. It’s a pathway that requires us to discern which pieces we should leave by the wayside, and which are essential parts of who we are. But we are never alone, and can ask for spirit to show us the difference.

There’s an aspect of surrender both to Virgo, and to New Moons. That makes this a special time to release and rest your weary bones in the lunar darkness, and emerge brand new on the other side. It’s a kind of “last chance” Moon, before we’re swept up in the cardinality coming our way through 2010. This is our time to prepare, before being swept up in cosmic events greater than ourselves. You may sense it’s coming. So let this New Moon work its mutable magic, so the pieces fall into their right place.

When the Moon is new in Virgo the Sun is also in Virgo.

The New Moon is a time of beginnings. You can set intentions that grow with the lunar light and reach fruition at the Full Moon.

It’s a Good Time to: SIMPLIFY!; take a ritual bath; consult an alternative healer; give or receive massage, reiki, energy work; do a seasonal cleaning; purge the stale, rotten or useless from your closet, fridge, computer; work with your hands; put finishing touches on your masterpiece; edit that article, novel or play; buy some new stationery and pens; take a yoga class; go for a long walk alone.

The New Moon in this competent sign triggers the ongoing opposition of restrictive Saturn and innovative Uranus that has been rocking the world since last fall. This might intensify personal and political polarization, but it gives us a chance to recognize destructive habits, understand how they limit us and change them. The Sun and Moon’s union in fastidious Virgo could trap us in narrow prejudices when flexibility and open-mindedness are needed to reduce tension.

Have you felt the tension and the pressure? Many are saying they have felt pushed and rather drained from their responsibilities and the energy has been pretty full on. There’s so much to say about this new Moon that it’s a bit hard to know where to start…

This new Moon is a doozy - exactly conjunct Saturn and opposing Uranus = it is a new Moon largely defined by and constrained by the current Saturn Uranus opposition. The new Moon occurs on September 18.

The Sabian Symbol is Virgo 26:

A Boy With a Censer Serves Near the Priest at the Altar. The ‘Boy’ doesn’t have the experience or social position of the ‘Priest’, but that shouldn’t put him off his duties or what needs to be done. His position and responsibilities are still important. In a Catholic church service, wine is drunk as a symbol of the blood of Christ. Wafers are placed on the tongues of the believers as the representation of the body of Christ. How the ‘Boy’ reacts to the ritual or ceremony will depend on his upbringing, beliefs or temperament. He could be rapt with fascination at what is being played out or he could be indifferent, bored and really preferring to go home. It is unclear whether the ‘Boy’ wants to eventually take the position of the older ‘Priest’, or colleague, or not. He may grow up to do other things, but right now he’s got his position or duty to fulfill. This may be less than he’s actually able to do or is truly “qualified” to do.

This Symbol brings up feelings of being second best, playing second fiddle; feeling like one has no authority. Of course, one can be ‘The Priest’ – you don’t have to be ‘The Boy with the Censer’, however it is very likely that issues of having a position will come up. Are you fulfilling your duties, your karma, your desires, so completely that you will be able to take your position as the authority in your life? Are you living your life with people that talk down to you, abuse you, don’t give you credit, don’t listen, don’t care and are only there to fulfill their own feelings of aggrandizement and glory? It could be time to stake your claim to those things that will reward you.

I would be remiss if I didn’t bring up the Symbol of Virgo 27 as the new Moon falls right on 25Virgo59 = the very last minute of Virgo 26.

The Sabian Symbol for Virgo 27:

Aristocratic Elderly Ladies Drinking Afternoon Tea in a Wealthy Home. This definitely has the spirit of feeling ‘at home’, feeling amongst your peers, taking time out, being able to relax, handing responsibilities on to others. So, this is a fine mix of having to do and finding time to just relax and catch up with others. The pic to the left is my interpretation of this degree (love it!).

The Saturn Uranus opposition is asking for big changes, big let goes and for us to take charge of a sense of personal authority that can (and will) move us into new life, new possibilities, new realities. We must accept the rewards that personal authority can bring, of course, and we may have to stand up and be firm about it.

This is made more manifest by Pluto’s placement at Capricorn 1:

An Indian Chief Claims Power and Recognition From the Assembled Tribe. This clearly speaks about claiming power and recognition from those around you. Still, we often find that others are doing this at our expense. How to rectify this? Check out the parameters of your own influence, your own sphere and stick to those with a sense of authority, grace and strength. Your ‘Assembled Tribe’ can be the disparate parts of yourself that can contain differing messages; your career self may feel very much in charge while your relationship self is floundering (or vice versa). You may be quite strong when it comes to issues to do with your family and those close to you, but like a fish out of water in social situations (or vice versa). This placement of Pluto asks that we line up the various parts of our personalities and get them to work in concert. This is an empowering placement for Pluto, but we sometimes have to face what we fear before the rewards come flooding in.

Mercury is retrograding back into Virgo now.

The Sabian Symbol for Mercury on this new Moon is Virgo 30:

Having an Urgent Task to Complete, A Man Doesn’t Look to Any Distractions. We all feel ‘distracted’ from time to time, this is quite normal. Distracted is an interesting word; going off the tracks, going off the rails, not being on target. We need one pointedness of application with Mercury here, staying true to yourself and remaining on the path or on the job. Mercury asks that we don’t look to things that derail us. There’s a reward here as well – Mercury will very soon head back to Virgo 29: A Man Is Gaining Secret Knowledge. From an Ancient Scroll He Is Reading.

This is a wonderful degree, particularly for Mercury to be going over. During the coming week, Mercury will retrograde over the degrees that Saturn is currently highlighting:

Virgo 25: A Flag at Half-Mast in Front of a Public Building

Virgo 26: A Boy With a Censer Serves Near the Priest at the Altar. It’s certainly time to be letting go – big time! Along with letting go is the acceptance of personal authority.

All of the above can relate to your relationships, of course, and the issue of relationships comes up pretty quickly with Venus on Leo 29: A Mermaid Has Climbed to the Rocky Shore of a Bleak Coast; She Awaits the Prince Who Will Bring Her Immortality. This speaks of coming into conscious form, new ways of being, transformation, looking for love and a relationship that confirms rather than denies your sense of integrity. This is particularly interesting because in this last week Saturn has been on Virgo 24: Mary and Her White Lamb. This speaks of dependence and co dependence and asks you to examine the spaces you have between you and others, particularly significant others and close friendships. Allowing that space for everyone to be more authentically who they are meant to be can bring wonderful rewards and realizations.

plutosymbolcolorPluto Direct- September 11 at 1* Capricorn

Pluto, God of the Underworld, is the ruler of Scorpio. (In Greek mythology, the corresponding god was Hades). In Astrology, the energies of Pluto are transforming. Pluto represents subconscious forces, ruling all that is “below the surface”.

On the up side, Pluto is associated with renewal and rebirth. It represents endings and new beginnings, as well as spiritual growth and rebirth. Negative expression of Pluto is an obsessive desire for power and control and general destructiveness.

Pluto rules power and mis-use of power. Pluto is also the energy, the motives, the integrity of the purpose of using Pluto’s power. Pluto is also the issues of the motives that are hidden within the person wielding power. Words can easily be used as a front, but it is Pluto’s energy and motives that point to the real purpose, the real goals for utilizing energy. These deep motives, even if they are unseen, will at certain times explode similar to the volcanic explosion that reveals the elements deep within.

Pluto often brings us situations that contain issues of power, in which we fear power greater than ourselves and thus we have to rise to the occasion to make the inner power greater than the outer powers. An example of this is the fear of outer authority and we must respond to situations in which outer authority comes into our life and our inner confidence or inner strength has to be stronger than the outer situations. This response to situations becomes the trial by fire methods in which Pluto works.

This outer authority, outer power can be a positive source of competition or a person in a position of power who is misusing their position to wield their power in inappropriate ways to cause harm to others. The purpose for this outer power and the motives for this outer power becomes the Pluto issue. The motives, ethics, integrity and values that come with the use or mis-use of power are hidden from view, however they are known by the person and ultimately become visible as the intention is continued over time, setting a precedence that speaks of it’s own accord.

Pluto has been in retrograde for 5 months, but is now direct, and this is likely to accelerate the crashes of what needs to die. On Pluto’s radar is the demolition of what’s structurally unsound. And since it’s in Capricorn, the days of reckoning are here for the economic system. Are you getting signs that you’re a dead man walking at your job? Perhaps you’re in retail and see that nobody is spending money in the shop. By facing that harsh reality, and letting go of a fixed view of what is, you can start to look around for other work.

With Pluto, there’s a force greater than ourselves at work. It plays a villain in the psyche because it exposes our desperate need to hold on to life as we know it.

My intuitive sense is that there’s a hard fall coming for those that live disconnected from Earth and earthly realities. Pluto roots out the essence of Capricorn, and what will be left standing is what has substance, is in harmony with Earth processes, and is enduring. Pluto going direct will accelerate the collapse process that’s mercifully exposing institutional corruption of our societal structures.

Out of Pluto’s ashes, there will be an “emergence” of the new, and no man or woman is above the Law of Pluto. It levels the playing field, as hidden truths and rotten-to-the-core institutions come under scrutiny. The very powerful may desperately try to avoid disclosure, but Pluto’s specialty is confronting those that think they can “play God.” In this case, it’s playing God with the Earth’s resources, with an ends justifies the means mentality. We can take comfort that Pluto’s changes come from its probing to the depths, and there’s nowhere for mortals to hide. And in this time of “emergency,” we each have the power to shape what’s emerging from within ourselves and the structures in society.

Pluto in Capricorn- According to the house placement in your Natal Chart

To understand the effect of Pluto in Capricorn according to the house placement of your natal chart will point to the issues that become your primary focus when Pluto moves into Capricorn (January 25, 2008 at 10:44 pm EDT) , look to where late Sagittarius and early Capricorn are in your Natal Chart. This will be the area in which you will find a great deal of activity and explosion of opportunities that move you into 2009

Pluto impacting your 1st House;  You will be asked to step into the volatile world of power, business and will have to challenge the authority figures around you. With Pluto impacting your 1st house at this time you will be given a position of power as the Jupiter/Pluto explosion occurs in December and by January 25th, 2008 you will have walked into the world of business, power, and authority. You will be placed in a position to challenge the previous authority and ethics as you are a power in the revolutionary changes that are slated to occur during this transition o Pluto moving from Sagittarius into Capricorn. The 1st house rules leadership and with the explosion of Pluto opening the doors to your leadership ability, you will be faced with Pluto’s powerful process of requiring that you walk through the trial by fire pathway of Sagittarius since 1995 in order to be prepared for the positions of power that Pluto has in store for you. You will have moved up through the ranks of the intensity of the inferno to show your capability of handling the true authority and power that will be given to you as Pluto moves into Capricorn. Your image will go through a complete makeover and you will have to stand up in your true leadership potential, whether you want to or not. Within the challenges of this Pluto event, you will be faces with Pluto’s call to power!

Pluto impacting your 2nd House: You will adjust your focus from your philosophy to revising your material security, whether it is money or investments. Pluto brings a great intensity to the situations and requires all that is false be taken away and build out of the ashes a stronger value system. Capricorn is your career and business pursuits, so you may be asked to put your money on the table in order to build the business that you truly want to build. This requires that you “bet it all” in a sense. For some this may be their “retirement” or their “life savings” or any other way that you feel that you are betting it all. Pluto brings a sense of accomplishment into the equation and will push you to make these important choices as the Jupiter/Pluto explosion takes place and you begin to see the writing of your destiny on the wall. Ultimately Pluto brings forward the energy of passion and purpose during the transition and you find the type of business you want to build because you believe in it. This is shifting away from the monetary aspects and going deeper into the equation of the value system and what money can do when intertwined with passion and a sense of purpose. Pluto in Sagittarius required that you strengthen yourself and have your self and your direction become stronger than the world around you. Not an easy task. Now it is to take that self that is galvanized with strength, to make choices that put you onto a career path that will expand your connections into a new business arena, one that you may not have thought in a million years you belong in, but you will find that everything that ha occurred up til now has all been to prepare you for your new position of passion.

Pluto impacting your 3rd House: You will move into this time of Pluto in Capricorn by bringing forward information that you have to speak or to write and to bring the Truth forward in ways that may not be the most popular amidst a society that still thinks the world is flat. The Jupiter/Pluto explosion cracks open the world of Truth that has landed in your lap. You are here to bring this information forward and you are moving into a time when you have your calling come into reality. You may have passed the point of retirement or you may just be graduating from college, either way, the impetus to bring information forward has now reached your venue. No longer will the false information and lies exist, you have lived through the experience as Pluto has finished it’s time in Sagittarius in which the choices of Money or Truth showed the realities of the choices. You are moving into a time in which your business and your career will be a direct response of the situations and events that you have experienced. You are moving into a time in which you will speak up, you will say what needs to be said and your communication will echo through the halls of the old structures that chose money rather than truth. You are here to say what no one else will say, but you can’t turn your back on the information that you now have sitting in your lap. The handwriting of destiny on the wall pushes you to grab your passion, your voice and speak up. The energy comes from deep in your being, you know that you are walking into your purpose, this is what you have come here to do. Regardless of the age or generation you come from, your message encompasses a universal message of Truth, one that crosses over the generations and becomes the Truth that is vital to everyone.

Pluto impacting your 4th House: You will move into this time of Pluto in Capricorn as you revise your foundation of the basics of all that is important. You have had to walk your spiritual path and spiritual journey and have felt that you are walking off a cliff. You are headed in the right directions as you have just left an arena of old concepts and have had to journey to the new world of new understanding. With the shift from Pluto in Sagittarius to Pluto in Capricorn, you have had to divorce yourself from the past and old concepts that restricted you and kept you from being yourself. Now with Pluto moving into Capricorn, you may be left with nothing but yourself and your God, but you can now begin to build again. With the explosion of Jupiter/Pluto you reached the limit of the past situations dictating you and your world. You could no longer live within the situations of old concepts, you have had to break free from the past, even if you had to leave everything behind. Your choices have to be true to your true beliefs. Similar to taking a stand against slavery and run for your life, you have to grab what you have; your Self and your God and start building your life again. Jupiter moving into Capricorn mid December helps to provide the impetus especially after the explosion of Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius that signaled the last straw to situations. It is time to take the only important things in your life and leave the old, the false, and the slavery to the past.

Pluto impacting your 5th House: You will experience the transition of Pluto moving out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn as bringing the basic foundation of your true beliefs into a new world with creativity, options and opportunities. The Jupiter/Pluto explosion opened up your home environment representing your basic emotional beliefs and connection with your self. You are now ready to walk into the world of options and opportunity and to open the gates of the past to find the Sun dawning on a new life. Your passion has increased and yet the dark times of living your philosophy seemed to be very dark and made you feel as if you were all alone. Opportunities will emerge in ways that you had not dreamed of and your creative nature is ready to move forward. The adjustments that you make as Jupiter moves into Capricorn mid December give you a sense of hope that you may be afraid to trust or to feel optimistic about. But as situations evolve as Pluto moves into Capricorn and the Mercury retrograde hits a time of adjustment, you will begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. You are moving into new times, yet with the trial-by-fire scenarios that you have experienced, you may not think that a new dawn will come. Yet as situations change, you will move into a whole new arena. Your creativity and your self-expression becomes a key factor and your faith and trust in the foundation of your philosophy becomes the key to unlocking your creative qualities that will seek to find creative endeavors. The expression of love and listening to that inner spark will take you into new avenues, ones that will provide the appropriate avenue to new career and business pursuits.

Pluto impacting your 6th House: You will experience the transition of Pluto moving into your 6th house as a journey to instill many new regimes into your life dealing with your work, health and accomplishments. Pluto moving out of Sagittarius has spurred you into looking at your health and work environments and regimes as part of the old system that is now beckoning you to make some very important transitions. Your career and business pursuits are taking a new turn changing the old concepts into new concepts. Your recent discoveries are breaking into the old concepts and you are positioning yourself to move into new directions. The Jupiter/Pluto explosion has given you the opportunity to capitalize on your creative ventures of late in which you have worked and believed in your projects. Whether your old environment is capable of housing these discoveries or you have to launch into new environments, you are ready to emerge with your projects ready to put them into form. Whether your discoveries were regarding medical breakthroughs or health concepts that blend old and new philosophies together, you will find that Jupiter moving into Capricorn will provide the stepping stones that take you into your new areas. The ability to heal and the ability to be of service comes into play in very real and strong ways. Your career and business pursuits now encompass the great discoveries that you have made and with the Truth of your results, you are ready to move these into the right form.

Pluto impacting the 7th House: You will find that as Pluto moves into your 7th house you are moving out of the old structures of being who and what others wanted and move you out of the old corral and into a much larger world of people. You may have been inundated with responsibilities and have been kept from experiencing the social arenas that you have desired. You have had to take your philosophy of responsibility and duty and had to deal with situations with that philosophy. You are ready to emerge out of the system of responsibility to have a much greater arena to be involved with. You have wanted to be more social and now your career and business pursuits provide that shift. This sets well with your natural talents and abilities and you feel very positive about this transition. You are ready to expand your social interactions and have reached a time when you are out of the old focus toward responsibility and reaching a greater world with greater impact and greater social accessibility. You are finally emerging out of the past and into your natural calling. Your new career and business pursuits are part of the exciting transition as Jupiter moves into Capricorn mid December. As Pluto moves into Capricorn and you experience the Mercury retrograde of humanitarian-oriented Aquarius, your social connections explode open a whole new group of people with a whole new focus. This connects you with the arena that has more social impact and has more opportunities. You are ready to move your passion into this new arena and you are ready to move into these new career paths.

Pluto impacting your 8th House: You will find that as Pluto moves into your 8thhouse you are ready to come to terms with the chance to invest in yourself. You have been helping and assisting others for so long and now comes the time to make decisions that surround your true self and your true calling. You are ready to make decisions about your desires, your true wants and to shift the focus from others to the focus that is about your inner sense of Self. The Jupiter/Pluto explosion has pushed you past the point of providing help and assistance to others, as at a time you can lead a horse to the water but you can’t make them drink. You have reached this point that others have to be on their own. You have put your philosophy forward and whether it was taken or not, you are ready to let it go. This becomes important as the true of philosophy is for the person to walk the path. Your past efforts have been stellar and the walk that you have taken to assist others has been the trial-by-fire pathway. You can no longer be of the best service to others andit is time to come face to face with your own path. You inner depth is calling to you and you want to have the time to answer and you are ready to make this shift. You feel this new inner voice calling to you and you want to answer. You are ready to answer the call to discover more and you will pull away from people who only want you to do everything for them. You want to do more for yourself. This becomes an important transition as it is time for you to invest in yourself. Once Jupiter moves into Capricorn mid December, you will eethe handwriting on the wall that it is time for you to move into your own direction, one that has been calling you for a while. It is important that you expand your inner concepts and deepen your vision. You are ready to move into a new anddeeper connection with yourself and to accomplish the greatest task of self awareness and self realization. It is time for you to listen to a greater and higher sense of Self.

Pluto impacting your 9th House: You will find that as Pluto moves into your 9th house you are ready to come out of the inner depth of self with the opportunity to expand this greater self into a larger world with goals and aspirations that provide you with new career and business pursuits. Your philosophy and understanding has gained a lot of strength and awareness and now you are being called to integrate that philosophy into a new direction. You will set new goals for yourself and you will expand in new career directions. Situations that you have experienced within your deep connections with your Self have allowed you to grow in your commitment and your convictions and beliefs. Now you will move into a new environment integrating these new beliefs into the outside world with new goals, aspirations and business pursuits. You will find that the change is lighter and allows more light of hope and optimism into your life as well. As the Jupiter/Pluto explosion opens the door to this shift, you will find that by mid December Jupiter moving into Capricorn opens up many new opportunities to move your career and business pursuits into new directions. You are ready to expand your communications, teaching and learning of new aspects of your career. You will see that many of the old pressures are off and you have made the transition from being in a darkened place to emerge into the light. This provides you the chance to expand more of your true beliefs into the outside world through self-expression, communication and teaching. You may be learning a new trade, learning through new studies, but the fact that you are lining up new goals, gives you a new lease on life.

Pluto impacting your 10th House: You will find that as Pluto moves into your 10th house you are ready to come into your true and rightful career. While Pluto was in Sagittarius, you had to walk through the trial-by-fire situations about your beliefs and put your beliefs on the line. This may have felt like you continued to get burned and continued to reach dead ends, especially as you followed the carrot of what you felt was right. The journey has left you exhausted, however, the journey had a much greater purpose than was seen, it provided the environment to show whether you were going to stop at the first sight of reward or at the first hill of challenge. You had to gain a much greater connection with your philosophy as it was incorporated with the outside world, to keep with your philosophy regardless of the results in the outside world. The journey that you have taken has now placed you to the highest level achieved and will now move you into your rightful career and business path. The Jupiter/Pluto explosion opens the door to walk out of the arena of the past and move into the arena that has you follow your philosophy and true calling. As Jupiter moves into Capricorn mid December, you begin to see your career and business emerge and reveal that the choices that you have made are now taking you into the direction that you have chosen through your actions and deeds. Once Pluto moves into Capricorn, you will see yourself on the doorstep of the world that you have chosen as your actions and deeds have created the stepping stones that you now find yourself walking. Opening up the new territory of your career and new avenues for your business pursuits, you are veering into new and different directions, one that puts your into your rightful place.

Pluto impacting your 11th House: You find that as Pluto moves into your 11th house, you are drawn into making new decisions about your career that have to do with the greater humanitarian picture and the desire to change your focus. You are involved with humanitarian pursuits and the larger plight of mankind has spurred you forward all through the old business arena, but now pushes you into a new and different direction. This new direction provides a major opportunity as the Jupiter/Pluto explosion has you jump from one ship to another. The new ship is calling for someone of your talents to become the spokes person about the larger picture, about the real need for people and the plight of mankind is deafening. You make important choices to jump to a new ship, one that has a purpose and a passion that encompasses a greater good and one that has all of your passion engaged. You are ready for the shifts that are happening as Jupiter moving into Capricorn mid December provides you with the offer of a lifetime in which you can’t refuse it or the calling of your heart. You make the change and make the jump because your heart and soul realize the need of the greater good to have a voice and a perspective that needs to be heard. As Pluto shifts into Capricorn in January and the mercury retrograde occurs in humanitarian sign of Aquarius, you realize that this shift is putting you right into the positions that you have dreamed of and now they are a reality. This is your time, the call is deafening as is the plight of humanity. You are ready, this is your time.

Pluto impacting your 12th House: You find that as Pluto moves into your 12th house you are moving into a very important time, one that has destiny written all over it. Pluto provides the point of power and whether it has been used for the best or not becomes the opportunity for you to connect with it. As the Jupiter/Pluto connection sparks the explosion of outer situations, you are ready to move into a new world within yourself, to come into a time of understanding the importance of the inner world. This inner world sees all, all across time, all across people and connects you with the true inner environments that are within us all. You are coming to understand the importance of these inner worlds and the opportunity to move this understanding into the outside world as it pertains to your career and new business pursuits. The power of the inner world is incredible and is yet so often not understood. In your way you will be moving into the right career directions in which you’ll have the chance to expand your ability for others to understand the importance of this inner arena. With your insight and intuition, you can come into the business world to shine a new light onto this important environment. Once Jupiter moves into Capricorn in mid December, you will walk into a new career focus and be ready to integrate the importance of this inner world into your new career. Pluto moving into Capricorn empowers this process as you will naturally have an impact in the humanitarian world of others. The natural shift of Pluto into Capricorn means that the Aquarius focus of humanity is now in view, where it was not even in the ball game before. The Mercury retrograde in Aquarius gives you the chance to see the importance of your shifts and how they will impact the larger scope of others.

FullMoon9-4-09ChartFull Moon in Pisces
Friday, September 4, 9:03 am PDT, 12:03 pm EDT

The Full Moon is in Pisces, the sign of dissolving into the All. We may feel “someplace else” as we float through the day. It’s the most otherworldly Full Moon, when what’s illuminated is the spiritual Self and its true destiny. And there’s a chance to see how that path can be in service of a greater cause. Pisces kindles a sense of spiritual devotion, compassion and what’s called “unity consciousness” — a sense that all life is interdependent.

This intensifies spiritual longings and gives us super psychic powers for these nights. Dreams may seem oh so real, giving us a suspicion that we live in many dimensions. The emotional intensity of this Full Moon takes us to states of ecstasy

Pisces is boundary less and boundless, and this can be disturbing. We pick up on every harsh or chaotic vibe. It’s a good idea to avoid crowds, since the mood of the moment can be like a great wavy undertow. People may freak out, so if you’re sensitive like me, you’ll seek out a sheltered spot this Full Moon.

This supersensitive Moon drops us into the exquisite nuance of every human emotion. Feelings, the imagination andspirit longing are all at their fullest potency. It’s a time to let go of who you think you are, so you can experience Oneness with everything.

The dreamy Pisces Full Moon opposes the Sun in pragmatic Virgo, contrasting idealism and realism. It’s not wise to escape into a fantasyland or to deny the yearnings of the soul. But we needn’t choose between them. It is, rather, a time to overcome the illusion of separation and recognize the steps it takes to bring them together. Mars in cautious Cancer forms a supportive trine to the Full Moon that encourages us to trust the intelligence of our feelings to guide us toward our goals.

But this Full Moonis in shifting Pisces, and ruler Neptune, andPisces’ old ruler Jupiter, are both inconjunct stable Saturn. Holding on is not a direct line. What are we avoiding? Evading? What you think is “small stuff” is a big clue. Goals can seem unrealistic, and you can realize that achieving creative goals, for instance a painting career, is simply doing one thing after another, taking care of every detail. You just may be amazed at the amount of clerical work and attention to detail and health it really takes to make your dreams come true. Yet, being responsible can also help you to work past any self-doubts about perfection and ability.

Pisces is a mutable sign, making it about dissolving, shuffling pieces, new combinations. Pisces is a water sign, with an emphasis on the imagination, unity through the heart, spiritual longing, transcendence, mystical visions.

Full Moon in Pisces: sharing intimacy with all of humanity, seeing beyond the surface of things, symbolic language and imagery, fantasy and escape, addiction, lost souls, the vast unknown, loss of Self, sacrifice or devotion, unconditional love.

So we’ve got the Full Moon in Pisces in opposition to the Sun in Virgo. This polarity is the play of devotion, service, self-sacrifice. The questions come up about what you’re bound in service to, and whether it fits with your life calling. Pisces straddles two worlds — the tangible physical and the unseen metaphysical. The volume is turned up on the hearts longing, and desires to break free of limitations, to fulfill your mission! It’s easier to see how labels, roles, mask are pasted on loosely, and not as fixed as we thought. That makes it a time for revelation, of the truth of the soul and its needs. And it can be a time of letting go of flimsy habits or quirks of personality.

Practical Magic: The Sun in Virgo weighs the messages coming through against the realities of the day. There’s strong tension between the urge to break free, and the day-to-day limitations, burdens, responsibilities. This is heightened by the Saturn (in Virgo) opposition to Uranus (in Pisces). The emphasis this Full Moon is between the same ole vs. the innovative, duty vs. freedom, authority figures vs. rebels, the spiritual vs. the material.

And yet, these two energies — Pisces and Virgo– are natural allies when held in balance. As we experience shocks to the heart withUranus in Pisces, through collective crisis, the grounded earthy smarts of Virgo helps us put back the pieces. The busting open of all this emotion can be faced with Virgoan simplicity and ability to heal. What’s unleashed can be purified, transmuted, and refined as we scramble for a new sense of wholeness.

Mastery of Our Daily Lives: As we lose it completely, the practicality of Virgo gives us the wherewithal to keep trying by tending to the details. What can you do today that will enhance your sense of well being? Drink more water? Smell some tea tree oil? It’s time for disciplined action for health, seriously, that is Saturn’s message being driven home in Virgo.

There is no way to coast through this time of crisis with compromised health. It leaves us confused, scattered, exhausted. Take one action this Full Moon that is a big Yes! to your spiritual-emotional-physical wellness, and you’ll send a powerful sign to the universe. You’re ready to mutate into your best Self!

Truth and Consequences: Another theme this Full Moon is discernment in a time of deception. The Saturn-Uranus opposition actually helps us look at what’s happening logically, as an antidote to the mass hysteria. This gets amped up with Mercury in Libra square to Pluto, as we are challenged to really see below the surface of “reality.” Is there an agenda behind what is presented as the collective narrative (in news, from politicians)? Is there a whole other story under the surface?

Pluto invites probing detective work, so that the fullest version of reality is uncovered. There is danger implied here, because it is a grave lack of trust in what those in authority have to say (Pluto in Capricorn). The square to Mercury sets the stage for “propaganda” by official figures, all in the pursuit of a hidden agenda. Each of us may have to make life/death decisions based on our relationship (trust) to entities in control. It’s painful to wake up to certain realities, but ultimately it could lead to a purging of what’s become institutionalized violence and corruption. You have a choice….you can say No to what’s dangerous and yes to life!

The Dark Side Makes Us Grow: There are going to be stressful times this month, with many squares and oppositions causing great growing pains. This Full Moon in “devoted” mutable signs is a chance to surrender to a higher power, to open to being re-arranged. It’s time to master your own energies, starting with your personal boundaries. And to know what terrors and fears you’ve got to face. We become less vulnerable to manipulation by others when we’ve faced our own demons and addictions. These two private signs invite us to retreat into rich solitude, to quiet the mind-body-spirit, and take steps to healing.

The Full Moon is high energy, and this is a chance to realign yourself with the purest intention. What is your gift to bring to the world? Perhaps it’s as an artist, or a builder of homes, or as a teacher. As you free up energies entangled in the past, karma, addictions, bad habits, you have more to give to your real life dream. You can put your whole Self into what you’re doing. You are set free from prisons self-created or from social conditioning. You are free to hear a higher call, and make progress (small steps count!) on your path to becoming.

Shocking Times: We are all dealing with upheaval and loss of what we’ve known. It’s a vulnerable moment for humanity, when the collapse brings opportunities and dangers. This Full Moon we can start ourselves first, and take a look at where we are. All we can do sometimes is put one foot in front of the other. Reach out to spirit to be held and comforted under this powerful Full Moon. And ask for dreams of guidance for that next right step.

This Full Moon illuminates: the depth of meaning in relationships and events; the wider mystery of why we’re here; how we’re merged as humans; the power of the collective heart impulse; divinely inspired creative ideas, chances to be a comfort in a dark time; vivid dreams of other realms and lives.

It’s a Good Time to: make dinner for a friend with the blues; start volunteering with children, animals, the elderly and vulnerable; get lost in your own imagination!; keep the schedule clear for daydreaming; take a long healing soak or swim in the ocean; spend time past the monkey mind (in meditation or a walk in nature); go to the theatre or the cinema; see yourself as an infinite being; speak from the heart; let yourself feel deeply; be with those you love.

venusrossettiVenus Enters Leo

It’s time to be daring!

Romance roars into action as Venus transits through Leo the lion from August 26 – September 19, 2009. It’s all about taking a chance on love and expressing what’s in your heart. It’s time to be daring in your relationships.

Whether you’re bursting with new passion for someone special, or need to bring up a problem with your sweetie, this influence will help you find the words, actions and courage to convey your feelings.

The lusty lion
Venus rules relationships, while Leo rules romance. Leo is a Fire sign, so it’s not the ethereal kind of romance, but rather a passionate expression of love. This passion may be accompanied by willfulness and a high level of drama, however, so strive for a balanced perspective in your relationships. And because Leo craves attention, don’t forget to express your appreciation to those who are closest to you.

Get creative
Venus also rules art and beauty, while Leo rules creativity – so expect a burst of creative energy during the next three weeks. You may suddenly get the urge to redecorate your bedroom, take an art class, plant an herb garden, throw a party, try a new recipe, start a journal, join a writing club or organize a charity event – whatever activity fires up your inner muse. The best way to access your creativity is to be in touch with your own heart.

Trouble ahead
A word of warning about August 26-27. If you find yourself unusually combative, stubborn or controlling, it’s probably the abrasive Mercury-Mars-Pluto influence that’s making troubling issues rise to the surface, so they can be resolved. Try to stay centered, and avoid getting drawn into unnecessary battles if you can help it. A more harmonious vibe will resume in a day or two.

Fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius)
Whether it’s a relationship or a project you feel strongly about, expressing passion comes naturally to you. So Venus in Leo will ignite your inner fire, and inspire both your creativity and some hot, maybe even stormy, interactions. This influence is divine in the bedroom, but you may need to contain the fire if an argument arises. Watch willfulness. If you’re solo, romance can be found through a creative or spiritual activity – such as a play, art opening or spiritual gathering. Taking a class may also bring a romantic prospect and inspire your creativity, too. Dare to be yourself!

Air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius)
Socializing skyrockets during Venus in Leo. Both romance and friendships will be influential in your life. You’ll be more inclined to spend time with people who share your interests. In other words, compatibility will be important to you. Commitment may be in the stars for solo Air signs, or at least you may have the opportunity to widen your social circle with some intriguing new friends. It might just be a friend who matches you up with someone fabulous! Look for romance during group gatherings, community events and while traveling. Networking online can bring in someone special as well. Communication is the key.

Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn)
Venus in Leo evokes your deepest desires. The sex will no doubt be fabulous, but you’ll want it all – a merging of bodies, hearts, minds and souls. No halfway measures for you! You may feel vulnerable with this level of interaction, however, so you’ll need some courage to inspire a deep connection. Healing old emotional wounds and dealing with the past will be necessary for relationship success. Heed your intuition, too, which will be especially strong. Single Earth signs can find romance through an old friend, family member or personal-growth activity (a meditation group, perhaps?). Be sure to spend some time alone, so you don’t get emotionally overloaded.

Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces)
Your sensuality will be all fired up during Venus in Leo. Getting physical (think massage, exercise and good food and drink) will bring out your romantic side – to the delight of your partner! It’s time to ground your naturally powerful emotions with some earthly pleasure. The danger of overindulging will be the challenge, so you may need to rein in some of your eating, drinking and spending. If you’re solo, romance can be found through a colleague, work project or health-related activity – maybe via a gym flirtation. On a practical note, be on the lookout for moneymaking opportunities and ways to advance your career.

However you choose to enjoy Venus in Leo during the next few weeks, be sure to share your heart with those you love.

The importance of the nodes of the moon

The two nodes of the Moon

                the north NNode

Nodeand the south node — play a very important part in astrology. The nodes are not planetary bodies, but mathematical points that take into account the relationship between the Sun, Moon, and Earth at the time of our birth. In the zodiac, they are always directly opposite each other and together they form the nodal axis.

The lunar nodes point to our personal karmic imbalance. The astrological theory behind the nodes of the Moon suggests that we all come into this world with some underdeveloped and overdeveloped aspects of our character. The north node represents qualities that we need to develop to find inner balance, while the south node points to personal character traits that are easy for us to fall back on. They represent life lessons that we consciously need to learn for increased happiness, fulfillment and personal success.

The nodal axis changes signs approximately every 19 months. Since December 18, 2007, the north node has been transiting through Aquarius with the south node in the opposite sign, Leo. On August 20 and 21, the nodal axis moves backward through the zodiac, and the north node moves from Aquarius into Capricorn, while the south node moves from Leo to Cancer.

Important advice for this transit: Get serious. Be brave! Work toward your goals. Instead of looking to others to take care of you, which is the south node in Cancer, north node in Capricorn means it’s time to be an adult, step up, accept responsibility for both good and bad.

But remember, each planet exerts influence over certain aspects of life depending on how they are placed in your individual natal or birth charts. How will the energies of this important transit affect you?

While your birth chart reveals your personality, the continual movement of the planets through your life affects both your personality and the events that shape your life. A progressed chart locates the signs, the aspects, and the house positions for each of the planets for any given year and tells you how long they will remain in those positions. These changes show you when to act on the potential revealed by your natal chart, and when to embrace growth in your life. The awareness of your progressed chart helps you make informed decisions about every aspect of your life.

To help you on your journey into awareness, we like to recommend a progression reading report to see the planetary influences affecting you now and what you can do with this knowledge are right now, the report is a completerevelation of what to expect in the coming year—–order through my website http://www.mysticwindows.biz. Take advantage of the opportunities of this transit to live a better, more aware life. Get started now!

Leo New Moon- August 20

This is the Fourth of the Five Super  Moons this year, intensifying our psyches.

New Moons signify rebirth, beginnings, a clean slate, the start of a new cycle. This new moon highlights Leo qualities (willful, charismatic, courageous, prideful, confident) and 5th house themes (love, pleasure, creative projects, children).

Leo is  ruled by the Sun, the largest body in our solar system and the object that other celestial bodies orbit around. I guess it’s only appropriate that Leo loves attention

What makes us feel glad to be alive? What were we born to do ? This are the questions that Leo seeks to answer. It takes courage to be true to ourselves, to keep moving in the direction of our dreams, our dharma, our destiny. We are subject to so much pressure that these pressures make it difficult for us to know and live our essence, our authentic self.

This New Moon highlights the ongoing conjunction of Jupiter, Chiron, andNeptunein Aquarius, reminding us that the more we become who we really are, the easier it is to find our team.

The Sabian Symbol is 28* Leo:

Many little birds on a limb of a big tree; a wide, and perhaps confusing, openness to a multiplicity of inspiring possibilities, is an image of fluttering and chirping, movement and song. The “Tree” can seem packed with chattering and movement and yet the “Birds” can be quite invisible. “Birds” gathering to chatter is common, particularly at the end of the day. The Symbol can reflect things like advertising, political campaigns, egotistical prattling and even children chatting and playing together.

This symbol tells us we have numerous options. Take some time around this New Moon to reflect on your chilhood dreams, your deepest longings. Watch for new opportunities around August 23, when Jupiter conjoins the February 9 Eclipse point of 21* Aquarius. Pay special attention to what happens around August 26, when Mercury, Mars and Pluto form an exact t-square at 1* Libra, Cancer and Capricorn. Venus conjoins the July 21 Eclipse point of 29* Cancer, that day as well, providing extra clues about our next steps.

What do you want more than anything?

The common element in this Symbol is the attempt to have one’s voice heard above all the noise anddin of the everyday world. It can be hard to gain the attention of others when there’s so much competition around. This also can be true when trying to listen to your own inner voice. It can feel like your needs, or your voice, are just one of so many, with little prospect or ability to have your ideas, opinions or plans heard. Perhaps you have a viewpoint or a project such as a book that you want to get ‘out there’. There may seem to be too many points of view, opinions or options now. Although the overall situation is probably secure andstable, there are still some confusions to be resolved. There may be many people or personalities that one has to deal with or look after. Further, you may be vulnerable to lots of chatter going on in your mind. It can sometimes sound like a cacophony of sound, where the intuitive voice or wisdom is drowned out by noise from the emotional world inside. When this happens, it is useful to use a tool, such as the Sabian Symbols, to help you focus on your true objective. Try to relax and gain some perspective until things become a little more settled.

Keywords:Gathering with people of like mind. Sharing ideas. Huge structures where people can get lost in the crowd. The Internet and chat groups. Books, tapes, cds. Publishing houses. Competition. Trying to gain attention.

The Last Eclipse of the Summer

August 5th Lunar Eclipse in Leo and Aquarius at 8:39 PM EDT, 13 degrees 35 minutes Aquarius (with the Sun at 13 degrees 35 minutes Leo). Planets and power points between 11 and 15 degrees in Aquarius and Leo will be dealing with the biggest changes. Planets and points between 11 and 15 degrees in Scorpio and Taurus will be griping about the changes they have to deal with. Planets and points in Sagittarius, Aries, Libra, and Gemini could be dealing with fallout from other people’s changes.

We can often feel the effect of eclipses up to a month before the actual eclipse, and to give you a perspective, its been said that the energy of an eclipse is approximately 10 times that of a full or new moon.

It will be visible from about the eastern 2/3 of the US. I would call it more of a normal eclipse, since it won’t be aspecting any other planets. And, the other planets of the zodiac will not be at war with one another. It’s still going to be an eclipse, andtherewillbe changes to deal with. But, after the previous 2 eclipses, this eclipse may feel more like an aftershock. And, if you want to do something different, with Leo and Aquarius involved, throw an eclipse party!

Lunar Eclipses indicate meaningful changes for individuals and groups. They are powerful markers of events whose influence can appear up to six months afterward.

The Sabian Symbol for this Lunar Eclipse are:
14* Aquarius: A train entering a tunnel.

This symbol speaks to an expectation that things will be there when needed. On a practical level, it indicates the overcoming of obstacles, breakthrough and determination. It also implies self-analysis or a journey inward, insight. The greatest advantage lies in being able to help others.

14* Leo: The human soul awaiting opportunity for expression.

This month’s eclipse is a prenumbral lunar eclipse that will take place on August 5 andisthe second of two Lunar Eclipses in this cycle of eclipses. It is rare that we have two Lunar Eclipses two months in a row. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur as the Moon passes through the constellation of Aquarius at 13º43’. At exactly 8:55pm the Sun will be moving opposite the Moon through the constellation of Leo at 13º43’. The Earth willbeat exactly the same degreein Leo blocking the light of the Sun to the Moon as it falls in direct alignment at 13º43’ with the Sun andMoon. As we know, earthlings tend to be more emotionally expressive during a Full Moon.

A Lunar Eclipse strongly emphasizes this emotional reaction!! Psychic sensitivity, spiritual instincts and emotional connectedness are aroused by a Lunar eclipse as the environment becomes a little unstable. This unstable environment occurs because there is change in the electromagnetic energy that affects us mentally and neurologically. There will be some stress as blockages will begin to crumble and then there will be a feeling of freedom. The good news is that creative and artistic qualities will be discovered as you let go of beliefs that don’t correspond with your current reality!! Outdated ideals or dreams may need to be discarded which can be painful but necessary. You experience an awakening to today’s truths as the clutter is cleared away and the present is seen in a new light. You redefine your personality and your image!! A new hairdo, new clothes and a new attitude are the result of this eclipse.

This Full Moon challenges us to come down from the ivory towers and act on innovative ideas. The Sun in bold Leo opposite the Moon in Aquarius indicates the need for courage and willingness to take risks. Remember, Full Moons bring matters to fulfillment: what’s hidden comes to light.

All Aquarians and all Leos are strongly affected by this eclipse. Eclipses help correct the course of your life. Personally, a phase of your life ends and a new one begins. Whatever part of your life is not in sync with your true life’s purpose will show the most change and this can be seen by where this eclipse falls in your personal chart. Keep in mind that this is all good and part of your plan for growth as you are forced to finally drum up the courage make necessary life corrections!! Enjoy the process!!

Read on to see what part of your life will experience the eclipse energy the most . . .

Aries: A path is unveiled giving you the drive to solve a current personal or professional relationship problem. Solutions may be temporary, however, as frustrations build over the days ahead. Your energies may be scattered so choose your words carefully.

Taurus: If your public responsibilities leave little time for a personal life, you are likely to feel the stress now. A career change may be in the stars as long-term financial changes are forced upon you. You do things that have needed to be done for a long time.

Gemini: It may seem that personal matters are preventing you from pursuing your dreams so it may be tough to find a balancing point that gets things done while spiritual enlightenment is all around you. You may find it tough to follow through on big ideas.

Cancer: Remember, an eclipse uncovers what is hidden and this one is no exception. A whole new world of possibility in partnership matters awaits you. You see how and get support so you can alter the course of an important personal or professional alliance. Go for it.

Leo: Partnerships of all sorts get tested and if you are single, a marriage could be planned. If you have spiritual issues that you haven’t addressed, you tend to them now. Your love life is so powerful now that this unsettling eclipse can offer up a relationship surprise.

Virgo: Health is an issue with this eclipse as you are reminded that that new ideas and systems aren’t always better than old ones. Fortunately, the news is you will make adjustments without making waves. Job changes are likely or you may have staff turnover.

Libra: Creative energy is unleashed and you discover exciting ways to advance your career. Pay raises and promotions can happen. You are honored and appreciated for who you are by everyone around you. This is the reward for not giving up when times were tough

Scorpio: There are dramas with folks at home and here is where the challenge is – you are in a yearly career peak and focus needs to be there, but events at home can be a huge distraction. It will be tough but you can handle it – you’ll be shuffling back and forth now.

Sagittarius: Cars and communication equipment are put to the test so put on your thinking cap and work your way around corners to see what is really going on behind the scene. Your communication skills are strengthened so its time to act on complex ideas.

Capricorn: You take a fresh look at opportunities you’re considering and personal financial changes are in the wind. Prosperity is wonderful and this eclipse should be read as a good thing. Your goals are not high enough so its time to change your financial strategy.

Aquarius: This Eclipse is very powerful on you!! Try as best you can to slow things down and avoid risky activities. Losses are usually associated with this type of eclipse. Being flexible allows you to effortlessly release what you don’t need and move on.

Pisces:Look for long-term change in your spiritual regime as spiritual practices are meant to evolve and change. Your dream life will be hyperactive. Look for job changes and changes in the conditions of the workplace. If there are flaws, you will find out about them

This symbol speaks of anticipation, and to a childlike eagerness for new experience. The focus is on innocence and the absence of mind-set or prior conditioning. This symbol represents an intuitive gift for knowing the right time and place to act and a willingness to give the whole self to any effort

If you are not sure how the eclipses will be affecting you, contact an astrologer. Even a 10 or 15 minute reading should clear up most of your confusion.

The Importance of this Eclipse

The recent Solar eclipse was in the Cancer/Capricorn axis. This axis is of rational, practical means and measures, which provide structure and boundaries(Capricorn), opposed by irrational sensitivity and selfless love which dissolves boundaries (Cancer). Like all astrological phenomena, this axis is rich in many ways.

Cancer is ruled by the Moon, the part of us that just wants to feel good, and unless we feel good we cannot do any good. The moon is the archetype of feminine energy, the capacity and power to receive and the connections we form based on what we receive. The Moon is like an opening that takes things in and tries to integrate them into our consciousness. We suffer in life because we are not flowing with our true nature. That sense of separateness hurts. The moon is the part that senses we are one and wants to dissolve boundaries that separate us from each other and from our higher Self.A need to dig deeply into “trusting your feelings” and “following your heart” is a large theme in this eclipse. We tend to rationalize things based on our feelings, no matter how nonsensical or impractical the thing may be. We often call that “intuition”, but much of the time it is not intuition, it is the emotions. Intuition is something deep and silent and not thought about or pondered. It is a deep knowing, without doubt or need for explanation. The emotions are generated based on our preferences, worries, fears and other things.

Look deeply into the nature of how you may base life decisions on how you feel at the exclusion of all other things, especially if there is the hope of connection to people you like, etc. rather than doing what is actually best for you.

For example, in our careers. If we base our career actions solely on how we may feel in the moment or about a person, etc. We will not get very far, feeling good about what we are doing is not the most important thing in life. Much of the time we are not going to feel good. But once we accept this we are actually able to feel good in most situations because the longing to be happy (rather than accept what is) dies down.

As was said, Cancer exists opposite Capricorn, the sign where we want to do what is best in the long term, regardless of how we feel about it in the moment. It is rational and calculating.

Does this resonate with you?

Total Solar Eclipse/New Moon on July 21st at 10:35 PM EDT at 29 degrees 26 minutes Cancer.

The 29th degree  is a karmic point anditcanbring out the heroes. People born with their suns or rising signs at the 29thdegreeof any sign often like to rescue people. This time, not only do we have a powerful eclipse at a karmic degree, it also going to be aspecting Uranus and Pluto. And, we have other planets doing their things at the same time. There is a good chance that relationships will breakup andinvestments will show major losses around this time. But, there is also a chance that some will “take the bull by the horns,” andinitiate major changes in their lives. Some of those changes will be absolutely brilliant, but some will be dealing with major losses. It’s not unusual that people who are ill and tired often pass over during eclipses.

The Moon’s nodes are where the Sun and Moon orbits intersect, and they’re now in Cancer-Capricorn. That means the next eclipses will be on that axis, with a solar eclipse/new Moon in Cancer set for July 21st. It’s an intense series that jostles us out of the comfort zone (Cancer), as we adjust to the changing structures around us (Capricorn).

CuspyCancer/Leo’s are going to be dealing with a lot of drama during this time. Any planets between 27 degrees and1 degree on the cusps between Libra and Scorpio, and Aries and Taurus are not going to be happy at all. Be careful, there could be accidents. Planets or points between 27 degrees and1 degree on the cusps between Capricorn andAquarius, may find that they are doing the rescuing. The points and planets on the cusps between 27 degrees and1 degree between Scorpio and Sagittarius and Pisces and Aries may actually see some positive changes from this eclipse. The effects of a Solar Eclipse can be seen up to a year.

The Sabian Symbol for Total Solar Eclipse is:

30* Cancer: A daughter of the American Revolution.

Dane Rudhyardescribes this as a degree of consolidation and one which honors past tradition andfamily heritage. The last degree of Cancer carries the notion of one’s genetic or family inheritance. The emphasis of this eclipse is on the dismantling and rebuilding of family structures and patterns. Expect changes to unfold within domestic circumstances and living arrangements, for a powerful generational shift is underway.

Though called a “luminary”, the Moon has no light of her own; she only reflects the light of the Sun. The Moon is locked in her orbit around the Earth so that she always shows the same face to us. The other side of the Moon is hidden from us, but every New Moon the Sun fully illuminates this dark face of the Moon, potentially exposing what is hidden. Instinct and intuition are wide awake.

This solar eclipse is the second Cancerian NewMoonin a row. Last month Vesta, wise goddess of the hearth alignedwith the Moon and Sun while they opposed Pluto one day after the Cancer solstice. This decisive alignment helped us let go of the past and start fresh.

The Chiron-Jupiter-Neptune conjunction continues to bring opportunities for growth andhealing. This is a profound time where issues of long standing can be resolved. As the Sun moves from Cancer into Leo, and the Nodal axis shifts from Leo to Cancer, Mother Moon and Father Sun help us balance our inner yin and yang. This new marriage of the Sun andMoon is likely to bring people together to make fresh commitments which will stand the test of time.

This eclipse season is opening up new avenues to the future while in another sense we are at the end of a long road which started a generation or more ago.

 Planetary Eclipses

The Eclipses for July-Aug 2009 are:

July 7 (LE)

July 21 (SE)

The Three Eclipses.

We have in July and August three eclipses

July 7, July 21, August 21

The first one July 7 at 5:38 am, in Cancer, will be a Lunar Eclipse, we have few stellar aspects happening over the days leading up to the eclipse, so get ready for drama. This eclipse will consists of the Sun in Cancer and an opposition to the Moon in Capricorn, Saturn in Virgo making a positive aspect between the two. There could be some positive changes in business and at home if we have been working hard. But Mars the ruler of this energy and sexwillbe fighting with Neptune, and Jupiter andVenus (the goddess of love), will be upset with Pluto(lord of the Underground)

The second eclipse July 21 at 19:35 pm, in Capricorn, will be a Solar Total Eclipse at 29* Cancer. The 29* degree is a karmic point andbring out the heroes. People born with their sun or rising sign in the 29* often like to rescue people. This time do we not only a powerful eclipse at 29* but it will be aspecting Pluto and Uranus. There is a good chance that relationship will break up and investment will show major loses. There will also be a chance that some “take the bulls by the horns” andinitiate major chances in their lives. Some of this changes will be absolutely brilliant, but some will be dealing with major loses. It is not unusual that people that are tired and ill often pass during eclipses, but this one will bring on more deaths…and some not anticipated.

The third eclipse August 5 at 8:39 pm will be a Lunar Eclipse in Leo and Aquarius. This one won’t be aspecting any planets and other planets won’t be at war. But this is an eclipse anyway and changes need to be made, but after the previous two this one will be more of an aftershock. Great time to throw a party!

Now is time to look at our charts and see in what house the eclipses are going to fall in, this will tell you what areas of your life will be affected. Next if the eclipses makes an aspect to a power point (ascendant, IC, descendant, MC), it could bring some tremendous changes, specially is is a conjunction or square. If any of the eclipses aspects any of the personal planets (Mars on in), then the changes will be personal. Which planet is being aspected  and the house that the planet is located will determined what aspect of you life will probably be dealing with those changes. If the eclipse is as an aspect to one of the outer planets, it will probably affect you more on a community or generational level. (Like maybe a bunch of the baby boomers decide to retire early.

The Lunar Eclipse on July 7 will be at 15* 32 minutes in Capricorn. That means the Moon will be in Capricorn and the Sun will be in Cancer. Any planets or points between 13* and 17* degrees in Cancer or Capricorn, are going to be dealing with the biggest changes. Planets or points in between 13* and 17* degrees in Libra and Aries are going to be dealing with unwanted changes, and some of those changes are going to be forced upon them. Planets between 13* and 17* degrees in Scorpio, Pisces, Taurus and especially Virgo, may find that they actually initiated some wanted changes.

Our Total Solar Eclipse on July 21, will be at 29* degrees 26 Cancer. CuspyCancer/Leo are going to be dealing with a lot of drama during this time. Any planets between 27* and1* degree on the cusp between Libra and Scorpio, and Aries and Taurus are not going to be happy at all. Be careful there could be accidents. Planets or points between 27* and 1* on the cusp between Capricorn andAquarius, may find that they are doing the rescuing. The planets and point between 27* and1* degree between Scorpio and Sagittarius and Pisces and Aries may actually see some positive changes from this eclipse.

And, the final Lunar Eclipse on August 5 will be at 13* 25 minutes Aquarius (with the Sun at 13* 35 minutes Leo). Planets and power point between 11* and 15* in Aquarius and Leo will be dealing with the biggest changes. Planets and points between 11* and 15* degrees in Scorpio and Taurus Will be griping about the changes they have to deal with. Planets and points in Sagittarius, Aries, Libra and Gemini could be dealing with fallout’s from other’s people changes.

We can often feel the effect of eclipses up to a month before the actual eclipse, and to give you a perspective, it’s been said that the energy of an eclipse is approximate 10 times that of a New or Full Moon.

The Moon is the opening through which life enters us. It exists between the limitations of form through our worldly experience and body (ascendant) and the universal, infinite Self (the Sun). The Moon is the part of us that tries to somehow bridge these two completely opposite planes of existence – the limited body and experiences and the universal Self. Our feelings keep us sensitive to what we are doing, trying to connect to things that take us closer to the Self, and bring about growth.

The Full Moon is a time of celebration, revelation, illumination and high spirits.

The Full Moon/Eclipse accelerates whatever purging and elimination we are doing in our lives. It’s a great time to let go of what’s hurting the heart. There’s light shining on how we denied our emotional reality, in order “to keep appearances”. Lots of people this days are stressed trying to make ends meet. The light goes off in where you are exerting serious efforts and asking yourself “Where is the love?” in return…… This Full Moon reveals whether the life structure, particular pursuit of wealth and career are in balance in your home life. Do you have downtime? Do you unplug from worldly concerns to let yourself unwind? Do you find time to play and giggle, to be a child?

The Sabian Symbols for this Eclipse are:

Capricorn 16: Boys and girls in gymnasiums suits.

This symbol speaks to self-development and to the need to be flexible and willing to adjust as situations change and new opportunities arrives. The emphasis here is on genuine desire for self-improvement and a willingness to accept self-criticism.

Cancer 16: A man before a square with a manuscript scroll before him

This symbol speaks of intellectual experience as a challenge to self-competency and to an attempt to improve things. The implication is that individuals need to frequently examine their ideas, beliefs and opinions and make adjustment whenever they discover that they are out of sync with reality.

We are all invited to take a proactive role in shaping our world. The cardinality of Capricorn give us the inner strength to reclaim authority over our lives. The Moon is in a supported trinetoSaturnin Virgo, giving us an extra dose of patience to handle the hard parts. There may be dramatic change aloof- with life purpose and life’s work- andthisgivesyou the ability to stick with the process. You can lay out a plan that breaks it into small steps.

Those withcardinalsigns(Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), will be jostled to take action, to let go of what’s in the way of progress. But this spirit of initiation hits the collective as a whole, with so much Aquarian energy (Neptune-Jupiter-Chiron) creating currents in the masses. This brings an “edge of your seat” quality to the charged up Full Moon. If revolution is brewing that brings power to the people, the rumbling will come soon.

This is a great time to prepare to become as healthy and strong as you can be. Saturn makes a supportive sextiletothe Moon in Cancer; emotional vitality returns when we get to the bottom of toxic behaviors or habits. With balance andmore quite time, we unravel back to who you are; peeling the onion of old hurts takes us to a truer more open-hearted version of who we are.

This is a time to take good nurturing of yourself. Be gentle with your vulnerabilities, especially as you try to change a bad habit. There is chaos swirling around, out of this will come a new order, you can find comfort in coming back to the truth of your own heart, and let that be your guide!

Planetary Eclipses-Lunar (LE) and Solar (SE)

Eclipses tend to bring significant change and new information. They can sometimes signal a stressful time, mainly due to the shift of circumstances that occur. Try avoiding making important decision during an eclipse as the energy as the energy around you tends to will tend to be unsettled and changeable.

Solar Eclipses (SE) are closely associated with new beginnings and their effect can last up to one year. Lunar Eclipses (LE) are closely associated with completion and endings and their effect can last up to six months.

We may start to feel an eclipse up to 30 days prior to the event and no two eclipses are the same (based on patterns, aspects, degrees, etc.). Some eclipses affect us more than others based on our birth chart. It is wise to wait at least a week for things to settle after an eclipse before making important or final decisions.

_________________________________________________

In the highest sense we feel the Moon as the innocent perceptive awareness in the moment. We are all trying to be open to everything – we want to receive everything, without fear or judgment, but it is hard. Life hurts us through the limitations of ego. We feel that hurt through the Moon. We remember other hurts and want to avoid future pain, so the ego builds protective structures (Saturn) and defend this fortress (Mars) and a separate identity forms around these habits – likes and dislikes – histories, etc. Feeling connected through our separate identity comes from the moon. Trying to dissolve it also comes from the Moon.

As for this eclipse… The Sun is being eclipsed by the South node in Cancer. The Sun shows innate confidence and power. The node is where we have experience that we trust, often blindly. It creates blind spots in us. Cancer is where we are trying to dissolve boundaries, and simply “trust our feelings” (and may act upon that) no matter what.
